Peste Noire - New Track Stream Posted At Stereogum

Just in time to kick off your weekend in style, high-traffic music portal Stereogum.com today hosts an exclusive stream of "Casse, Pêches, Fractures et Traditions" from French black metal miscreants, PESTE NOIRE.

The twisted, tortured and plainly demented-sounding opus is the opening track off the band's recently unveiled L’Ordure à l’État Pur full-length. Released in North America by Transcendental Creations, L’Ordure à l’État Pur is a truly brilliant work of wormy, muddy black metal for derelicts, ingrates and scoundrels; a mixed bag of Filth and Tradition brought to you by the one and only, DJ Famine.

Check out "Casse, Pêches, Fractures et Traditions" HERE.

..................................................

"This a stew of black metal, hard rock, punk, oi, ethereal folk, classical, industrial, electronica, polka… Famine doesn’t even limit himself to using musical instruments in his construction of music. At points here, he employs the sounds of whips cracking, ambulance sirens, guns being cocked — and he uses these things not as effects, but as percussive elements, which underscore the violence of the music, the fear and chaos." -- Long Island Press

"What puts Ballade Cuntre Lo Anemi Francorcomfortably in the black metal realm is that in spite of how hook-laden it may be is it's overwhelmingly evil aesthetic. Had Satan truly gotten behind the White Stripes, they might have ended up sounding something like this." -- Sputnik

"...every bit as eccentric and scatterbrained as nearly anything the French oddity has produced to date.Famine, or shall I say La Sale Famine de Valfunde has crafted another startling absurdity, this time through his own new imprint 'La Mesnie Herlequin', for which he's also managing a record store and 'zine. " -- From The Dust Returned

"From the first meeting with Fred, we knew that we wanted to work with him. He fully understood our needs and what we are aiming to create. After hearing his work, we knew that he was also a fan of organic production. This is very important to us. His studio is recently built and we are thrilled to be one of the first bands to record within its walls" comments the band.

Vastum Unleash New Track Via Stereogum

Click to enlargeThe name VASTUM is raging through the metal underground like hellfire right now, with the news of the San Francisco-area act's recent signing to the 20 Buck Spin label for the release of their Carnal Law debut this May still fresh. VASTUM's crushing death metal is crafted more in the ways of the early purveyors rather than retaining semblance to "Bay Area sound" clichés; their stripped-down attack will rip your face right off as the band prove with the thunderous midpaced stomp of the opening track from the album, "Primal Seduction," which Stereogum has graciously premiered to the public today. To be pummeled, click here.

Brand new visual evidence of VASTUM's raging live attack has just surfaced this week as well, in the form of some very ominous, black and white 8mm camera footage. Check out the footage at this location now!

The band are are currently plotting a Northwest US Summer tour and more, with details to be announced over the coming weeks. For now catch them randomly throughout their local stomping grounds.

VASTUM Live:
5/14/2011 Victory Warehouse - Oakland, CA w/ Dispirit, Anhedonist, Ealdath

VASTUM's sound permeates the most wretched, dehumanizing, old-school death metal might on Carnal Law. Culminating an arsenal of musicians with current or past ties to Acephalix, Saros, Amber Asylum, Hammers of Misfortune, Infest and more, but the band's attack is more crushing and potent than many contemporary acts flying the death metal banner.
