Defiler Teams With Pledgemusic To Fund New Tour Van

Northern California metal act Defiler have teamed with PledgeMusic to raise funds for a new tour van.  The band’s old van was destroyed during their last tour, leaving the band stranded and forced to cancel shows on their short headlining run.  Defiler is hoping to raise enough money to get them back on the road this fall in support of their upcoming studio album.  Pledges range from a $5 digital only EP to $1,000 for a house party thrown by Defiler.  Full details and pledges can be found here -http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/defiler.

A portion of all funds raised will go to MusiCares, established by The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences in 1989 as a place for musicians to turn to in times of financial, personal, or medical crisis, primarily focusing the resources and attention of the music industry on human service issues which directly impact the health and welfare of the music community.

Defiler recently finished recording their Razor & Tie debut which will be released later this fall.  The band self-produced the record with mixing duties being handled by Chris “Zeuss” Harris (Suicide Silence, Chelsea Grin, The Acacia Strain). More information on the album will be released shortly.

The band has made a new track available for preview.  To check out “Lucky 38” click HERE.

Defiler has already earned itself a buzz with "Cryomancer" (which generated over 1.7 million views on YouTube). The song also appeared on last summer’s Mayhem Hatewear compilation, For The Headbanger’s 2.   In 2010, Defiler released its debut album, Pangaea, and in 2011 Jamey Jasta re-issued the album on his Stillborn Records imprint.  Defiler is led by 18 year old front man Jake Pelzl and is rounded out by Ethan Lewis - (guitar), Ian Poole - (drums) and Jesse Dhaliwal – (bass).

Mayhem, Warped, And Uproar Tour Founders Go Duffing For Dollars

Los Angeles–Duffer–n. A casual or mediocre player of golf. That pretty much sums up many, but certainly not all the participants who came out swingin’ this past Monday in Mission Viejo for a great cause. Music industry vets Kevin Lyman (Vans Warped Tour, Country Throwdown, Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival) and John Reese (Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival, Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, Identity, SGE) for the 3rd consecutive year, gathered with their industry and celebrity friends for “Duffing For Dollars,” a fun-filled day of golf and a night of cocktails, awards and auctions. Hosted by Joe Sib of “Complete Control Radio” (98.7 FM, Los Angeles), the event raised $50,000 for the “Unite The United” and “MusiCares” charities and once again, took place at the beautiful Mission Viejo Country Club.

With a sold-out crowd of 128 participants during the day/night at the January 30, 2012 event, Sterling Ball and his Ernie Ball team was the winning golf team with a score of 16 under par, while the Access Pass & Design team did a better job partying than golfing to take home the “Worst Team” trophy and Avenged Sevenfold’s Zacky Vengeance garnered the highly-coveted “Best Dressed” trophy. Some of the event highlights were the Jägermeister, Azunia Tequila, BrockCom and Stage-Tech party holes, Chris “Stretch” Thode also from Team Ernie Ball came within six inches of sinking a hole-in-one at the $20,000 cash prize hole, Sterling Ball and his “Big Poppa Smokers” award-winning BBQ crew donating a BBQ feast for the winner and a 100 friends to the evenings live auction. Jay Bentley of Bad Religion coming out to support the cause for the 3rd year in a row. Plus, the incredible one-of-a-kind South Park trophies, including Mr. Hankey, commissioned by Vans and created by artist Frank Stanley.

”When everyone pulls together for a great cause equaled with a lot of fun like they did at 2012′s Duffing for Dollars amazing things can happen, like $50,000 raised for MusiCares which is PRICELESS!” states Kevin Lyman.
