Mnemic's "I've Been You" Video Debuts On Youtube

Head on over to YouTube to check out the result of the pairing of Danish modern metal band MNEMIC and renowned Swedish director Patric Ullaeus of Revolver Film Company (DIMMU BORGIR, ARCH ENEMY, EUROPE): the “I’ve Been You” video.

“It’s finally done… the video of us five morons headbanging in a cardboard factory!” states guitarist & founding member Mircea Gabriel Eftemie.  “We went all the way to Sweden to shoot this with our good old friend Patric, who’s done 90% of our videos.  Once again, he did a fantastic job, making us look like a million (that is, starting at 50 cents and going up), and we couldn’t be more satisfied with the outcome!  A big thanks to Patric, Tara, Pierre Larson and ‘Emballage-Kontakt’ for making all of this possible!  Check it out and enjoy, people!”

Mnemesis was released this past June and debuted at #39 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.  The album was recorded at Antfarm Studios in Aabyhøj, Denmark with long-time producer Tue Madsen (Behemoth, The Haunted, Threat Signal).

Mnemic To Film "I've Been You" Video

Danish modern metal machine MNEMIC is teaming up with renowned Swedish director Patric Ullaeus of Revolver Film Company (DIMMU BORGIR, ARCH ENEMY, EUROPE) to shoot the band’s video in Gothenburg, Sweden for “I’ve Been You,” a track off their new album Mnemesis.

Guitarist/founding member Mircea Gabriel Eftemie shares:

"Looks like we are hooking up with our old time friend and film director Patric. As you probably know or don't know, he did most of our videos, and each and every one has been outstanding to us. This time around, we'll be shooting the video in an old factory (surprise surprise) to create a cold, harsh, uncompromising type of atmosphere that won't even melt with such a warm melodic song as ‘I've Been…’ We are super excited for the video shoot, and can't wait to see the final result! Keep an eye out for this space!"

Mnemesis debuted at #39 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart the week following its June 19th release and can be ordered from Nuclear Blast USA’s Webshop

Mnemic: New Album Artwork Artist Revealed

After constantly fielding questions about the source of the Mnemesis album artwork, MNEMIC guitarist & founding member Mircea Gabriel Eftemie has finally come clean about the source: his name is Metastazis

States Gabriel: “He’s worked with Ulver, Blut Aus Nord, and Morbid Angel, but also with more modern bands like The Black Dahlia Murder in the past.  He’s mostly known for working mainly with black metal artists, usually designing more occult imagery.  Since I am a designer myself, I have been asked why I didn’t do the cover like I’ve done in the past, so I’ve decided to offer you a video statement in order to grant insight on how it all came together.  In my opinion, it’s the best artwork we’ve ever had.  Usually, we stress [about the artwork] until the very last minute, but this time, it was more of a collective process.  Since both me and our bass player Simone [Bertozzi] are graphic designers, we functioned more as art directors.”

Mnemic's New Album Debuts On Billboard Chart!

Mnemesis, the fifth studio album by Danish modern metallers MNEMIC, has debuted at #39 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart with first-week sales in excess of 700 units.  Besting Sons Of The System’s Billboard Heatseekers #64 debut in 2010, guitarist/songwriter Mircea Gabriel Eftemie took a break from conducting his radio interviews to share the following reaction:

“Good news for the MNEMIC campfire machine: we climbed the charts by 25 positions since the last album!  A big thumbs up and thanks to everyone at Nuclear Blast USA who have been promoting the album like there is no tomorrow. Most importantly, to everyone that bought a copy of the new album, we highly appreciate the support and are eternally thankful towards all of you out there!  Actually, we are throwing out eternal thank-yous-thumbs-ups-cheerios and ‘skål for helvede og mojn i øjn’ to everyone involved!  That means ‘Cheers Goddamnit and see you!’ in Danish.  See you very soon on tour both in Europe and the U.S.!”

Mnemic: Word Association x Two

Mnemesis, the fifth studio album by Danish modern metallers MNEMIC, was released in North America and guitarist/songwriter Mircea Gabriel Eftemie’s mind is all over the place.

Bored with the standard fare of “track-by-track” commentaries, this crazy Dane decided to have a little fun and headed down to his friend ex-Hatesphere/Raunchy drummer Morten Toft Hansen’s house for some dinner and a game of word association.  Eftemie read him the Mnemesis track names, recorded Morten’s responses, and then did a word association on his word association.  The results are below (Eftemie’s responses in bold).

Mnemesis Track 01, “Transcend”= Meditation = "StegtFlæsk med persille sovs."  I have no idea what that’s called in English, but it’s a great Viking dish.

Mnemesis Track 02, “Valves” = Heart Surgery = Keep working out with metal music in your ears and stop eating junk food.

Mnemesis Track 03, “Junkies On The Storm” = Face-Eating Drug Addicts = Never judge.

Mnemesis Track 04, “I’ve Been You” = Peter Frampton’s “I’m In You” (Live) = Great haircut.

Mnemesis Track 05, “Pattern Platform” = The International Space Station = Mass data acquisition.

Mnemesis Track 06, “Mnemesis” = Public Enemy (the band) = Great band and the true representation of rap with political twists that blows every R&B artist out of the water.

Mnemesis Track 07, “There’s No Tomorrow” = Atomic Bombs = Too complicated and obsolete warfare; imagine what you can do with viruses these days.

Mnemesis Track 08, “Haven At The End Of The World” = Galileo Galilei = Pizza in the sky.

Mnemesis Track 09, “Ocean Of Void” = The Mariana Trench = Jules Vernes goldmine.

Mnemesis Track 10, “Blue Desert In A Black Hole” = Stephen Hawking = He was portrayed in The Simpsons and has his cartoon toy-figure in his office.

Mnemesis North American Bonus Track, “A Matter Of Choice” = Regular Fries or Curly Fries? = Curly Fries of corpse!!!

The Mnemesis digi-pak can be ordered from Nuclear Blast USA’s Webshop
