New Aosoth Song Streaming

Decibel Magazine has recently conducted an interview with French black metallers AOSOTH concerning their new album "IV: Arrow In Heart" (out now on Agonia Records) and their stateside debut at Maryland Deathfest this May. "Our set now consists of a majority of material off IV: An Arrow In Heart" - comments the band on their first ever US show. "We’re using samples and things like that, to complete that feeling of immersion and oppression. It should be a pretty interesting experience for the listeners, although it might also be unpleasant to some." "IV: Arrow In Heart" is a natural improvement over bands previews release, entitled "III", which already was "a major step forward for Aosoth in creating their own distinct sound" (Sputnik Music). Commented by the band itself, the new release holds yet a bigger spiritual meaning: "We've spent such a huge amount of time on defining a darker identity, yet open to a wider range of influences. Those tracks still haunt us, as delivering them was a painful and excruciating experience, and left some of us even physically wounded... Which gives that album even more of a spiritual value, as it involved a form of sacrifice."  The band also added: "This fourth full-length release is without a doubt a great step forward for us in term of music writing, and sound."

The album consists of 6 original tracks and 56 minutes of music.

Pest Reveals New Song "Volcanic Eyes"

Swedish blackened metal outfit PEST premired the first song off their forthcoming album "The Crowning Horror". The release will hit the shops on the 18th of June in Europe and 9th of July in North America via Agonia Records, and the debut track - a song straight out off the cult old-school metal niches, that may appeal to both heavy and extreme metal public -  can be streamed at the this link:

Thrilled to return after a five-year break, PEST is once again back on its own turns, exposing a characteristic brand of old-school black metal to passion and mixing melodic yet haunted guitar licks with speed, rawness and chaos. "The Crowning Horror" was mixed by Fred Estby (Dismemebr/Carnage/Necronaut) at Gutterview Recorders and mastered by Andy Jackson (Pink Floyd's engineer, Grammy nominee) at Tube Mastering, UK.

"The Crowning Horror" will be available on a noble 8 panel digipack CD, digitally and on vinyl (first 100 copies on a solid, purple wax vinyl). The album is preceded by a 7" EP titled "Black Oath c/w Morbid Revelations" released on April 16 worldwide.

AUTHOR & PUNISHER mercilessly manipulate the principal conventions of doom, industrial and heavy bass music relying on cold steel and soulless machinery to sonically replicate the despondency of life. Described most succinctly as “industrial doom,” this one-man project utilizes primarily custom designed and fabricated machines and speakers, devices that draw heavily on aspects of industrial automation and robotics and focus upon the eroticism of interaction with machine. Through his maniacal audio decomposition, Shone paints an often disturbing soundscape of a diseased world.

In celebration of Shone’s compelling creations, today Nation Public Radio hurls forth third track “Melee.” Fittingly notes NPR: “Bloated, muddled beats hang in the air like zeppelins until Shone's steel-toed boot of a chorus comes crashing down. The structure is something like Nine Inch Nails’ strongest songs: the build, the climax, then the chaos. The last minute of ‘Melee’ sounds like a death march led by a million-strong war cry. The machines have taken over. You have 20 seconds to comply.”

Evile Confirmed For Taiwan's Formoz Festival

EVILE have been confirmed for this year's Formoz festival in Taiwan, which takes place on August 3rd and 4th.

Formoz started in 1995 as a street festival and has since developed into an iconic international rock festival, regularly boasting the most anticipated line-ups of any music event in Taiwan.  The festival will mark EVILE's first appearance in eastern territories.
