Former All Shall Perish Guitarist Ben Orum Comments On Departure

After announcing he was leaving All Shall Perish, Metal Injection has followed up with guitarist Ben Orum and gotten exclusive new comments on his departure.

The entire interview can be read at:
http://www.metalinjection.net/latest-news/exclusive-comments-from-ben-orum-on-leaving-all-shall-perish-and-a-new-track-from-his-new-band

As for when the decision was made to leave:

This decision came on very quickly after some realizations I had made having stayed home from the last two tours.
Touring and families rarely mix unless you're the .00001 percent of artists who can just bring them on the road with you. With how sad the state of the music biz is these days (especially metal), it was really hard for me to want to keep going when I had so many things to look forward to at home.
The time off had opened my eyes to what I have been missing out on in life and who I need to be… which is a father and a husband who is home and present. A father who's kids can count on him when they need him most. Leaving on tours is difficult enough on an emotional level, But but the hardest part about what we do is coming home and trying to fit back into a life that has gotten used to you being gone. It can crush you.
After telling the band that I no longer wished to tour, they talked it over and came to the conclusion that it was either 100% in or out.. so sadly, I had to choose 100% out. After 10 great years.. it was time for me to move on.

Ben also discusses his favorite All Shall Perish memory and how he got involved with his new band, Oblivion, and also includes a new song from the band. Check that out at:
