Iwrestledabearonce Recording Their Third Full-Length Album

Experimental-heavy-rockers IWRESTLEDABEARONCE have announced they’re almost finished with tracking their forthcoming, third studio album, which is due out later this year.

Currently held-up in their band-compound/recording studio in Los Angeles, IWABO are pushing themselves musically like never before.  While known for their schizophrenic sound and unconventional song structure, IWABO is approaching their next record with a new focus and a determination to deliver an album that will surprise fans and entirely re-define who they are as a band.

“Well damn! After another two years of non-stop touring, some unexpected twists, and getting to visit some new and amazing places, we're finally back in the studio working on full length number three!,” says guitarist/programmer Steven Bradley.  “I've 100% NEVER been this excited about an IWABO album, because it feels like we've finally reigned in "our sound" even further and really hit a stride in terms of songwriting.  We've always admired bands like Deftones, Cynic, Thrice, Glassjaw, Mr. Bungle, Dredg, Cephalic Carnage, The Mars Volta, etc because they've never made the same album twice, and aren't scared to keep evolving while still maintaining their signature styles. Obviously I'd never compare us to the greatness of those bands, but, in keeping with that mentality, we've progressed a bit more and put together our best collection of songs so far.

Bradley who is producing, engineering, mixing and mastering the album himself adds, “the heavy parts are heavier and more interesting, the choruses are stronger, and the "weird twists" that people have come to expect in our music are way more thought-out than in the past and definitely hit harder than ever.  Long story short - we're very excited about getting this album finished and released, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Thanks for listening, and keep in touch with us on our facebook/twitter/etc where we will be posting frequent updates!”

IWABO’s upcoming album will also be the debut of the band’s electrifying new scream/sing queen Courtney LaPlante, who joined the band with only a 24 hour notice in between shows on the band’s run with Warped Tour in 2012.  Her contributions to the new music have not only re-energized the band but have also allowed them to explore new growth as a cohesive unit.

“Since the day I joined this band, I've been anticipating this album!,” says LaPlante.  “I was pushed to the limit creatively and technically, and I've never been more proud of myself or my bandmates. We've been through alot this year, and this is the pay-off; the result of our experiences. Most importantly, I think IWABO fans both old and new will really enjoy these songs, and we can't wait to play them live for you this summer!”

Iwrestledabearonce To Premiere Feature Film

In a groundbreaking move, IWRESTLEDABEARONCE will premiere their feature film A Beary Scary Movie at the Rock And Shock Film Festival at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA on October 16. A Beary Scary Movie will be featured as the headlining film of the day at this convention that exhibits the best independent horror films from around the world and boasts New England’s largest gathering of horror and heavy metal fans.

The edgy horror film stars IWABO’s Steven Bradley, Krysta Cameron, Mikey Montgomery, Michael “Rickshaw” MartinJohn Ganey, along with actors Larry Parks, John Dillion, Phillip Wright, Jim Babel, Charlie Huffman and Kelly Keodara, with a special appearance by Jake Busey. and

A Beary Scary Movie was written and directed by Justin Beasley of KOTK Productions.

IWABO lovers and haters rejoice! The time has finally come to watch us all get brutally murdered! Our friends at KOTK productions have managed to outdo even themselves on this one,” says IWRESTLEDABEARONCE’s Steven Bradley. “We are all HUGE horror movie fans, particularly old-school cheesy fun horror fans, so this project has definitely been the most insane and enjoyable undertaking in the history of our band.”

IWRESTLEDABEARONCE will also participate in signings, panels and other appearances at Rock And Shock, along with the convention’s other featured guests--including Robert Englund, Kane Hodder, Bill Moseley, Lance Henriksen, Gary Busey, Jake Busey, Norman Reedus, Sean Patrick Flanery, Ace Frehley, Roddy Piper, Heather Langenkamp, Amanda Wyss, Bill Moseley, Derek Mears, Tim Thomerson, Miko Hughes and many more. Tickets for Rock And Shock are available at: www.rockandshock.com/tickets.htm.

About A Beary Scary Movie

IWRESTLEDABEARONCE are part of one of the most fucked up, crazy-ass twisted motherfucking fantastical adventures that has ever been told in the history of metal.  Something monstrous and mentally deranged from the ‘80s hair metal scene has been sent straight from hell to shred through their "experimental" metal flesh and leave their bodies--not to mention today's metal scene--bloody, battered, and torn apart.

Steven, Mikey, John, Krysta, and Ricky are in the fight of their lives as they face the insane bloodthirsty flesh fiend known as Shreddy. Watch as Shreddy slaughters each member one by one while they sleep. The only limits are those of the insane minds of IWABO. Can they make it out of this bizarre and gruesome tale alive? Will IWABO continue or will they perish at the hands of this madman? Only those brave enough to watch A Beary Scary Movie will find out....

Iwrestledabearonce Return To The Road In October

Iwrestledabearonce return to the road in late October for a month of tour dates as direct support for Of Mice And Men. Prior to the tour--which kicks off October 26 at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco and wraps November 29 at the Alter Bar in Pittsburgh--IWABO heads to Anchorage, Alaska for a pair of headlining shows on September 16 and 17.

The group’s new CD, Ruining It For Everybody, was released July 26 via Century Media Records. Critical praise for the disc continues to build, including Iann Robinson’s 9.5 (out of 10) star review for CraveOnline.com, which calls Ruining It For Everybody a “contender for Album of the Year.”

The review continues: “…Iwrestledabearonce have created a shimmering piece of artistic genius…Gloriously shining and seductive female vocals reach for the outer limits while screeching vocals of ugly defiance batter us back into reality. Beautiful piano and electronic sounds are kicked in the shins over and over by thick and brutal riffs...This isn’t just music, this is art, this is an impressionist painting mixed with a work by Dali that’s draped over the hand carved stone statue of a demon all backed by the sounds of angels singing…for those who burn every day with the desire to see heavy music take bold steps forward, I give you Iwrestledabearonce and their maddening genius bottled into a Molotov cocktail of audio complexity...”

Writing for Noisecreep.com, Amy Sciarretto concurs: “Thanks to IWABO's unpredictable, refuse-to-adhere-to-any-genre-or-go-down-easy metallic bluster and electronic wizardry, you will feel like you stepped into a video game and a carnival house of horrors all in the space of a single song. Singer Krysta Cameron shrieks like she needs to be institutionalized, but also offers up an angelic, pretty vocal. She is not to be trusted; she will cozy up to you, only to boot you in the balls without any warning! That's why we love her!”

Iwrestledabearonce--Krysta Cameron (vocals), Steven Bradley (guitar, keyboard, programming, samples), John Ganey (guitar, keyboard, programming, samples), Mike "Rickshaw" Martin (bass) and Mikey Montgomery (drums)--recently concluded a month of North American dates on The All Stars Tour with Emmure, Alesana, Born Of Osiris, Bless The Fall, and others.
