Philip Anselmo Announces Career-First Solo Project

Philip Anselmo, legendary frontman of Pantera and Down, will release his career-first solo album, Walk Through Exits Only, on July 16 via his own Housecore Records (MRI/Megaforce).  Walk Through Exits Only will be available digitally, on CD and on vinyl.

Produced by Philip Anselmo and Michael Thompson, and recorded over the past couple of years at his New Orleans studio, Nodferatu's Lair, with his band The Illegals - Marzi Montazeri/guitar, and drummer Jose Manuel "Blue" Gonzales, Walk Through Exits Only is abrasive, aggressive, anthemic and 100% Anselmo.  The album's eight songs are as unstrained as it gets, from "Battalion of Zero" to "Usurper's Bastard Rant," to the album's title track that goes against the grain and right through the exits.  Brash, brutal guitars cut through punishing percussion as Anselmo screams with uncompromising ferocity and uncontainable fire.  


"It wasn't about doing a paint-by-numbers thrash or heavy metal record," Anselmo explained about the project.  "It's an angry album that only I could do.  I don't see anybody else out there screaming about the same shit I'm screaming about.  On this album, there isn't any wordplay, there isn't any hidden message, it's all right there in front of you."


Anselmo and the Illegals will support the new album with a major North American tour planned for this summer.   Anselmo, who is up for Best Vocalist at this year's Revolver Golden Gods awards, will make a special appearance at that event.


On Walk Through Exits Only and over his entire career, Anselmo hasn't just paved his own path, he's bulldozed it with his bare hands.

Warbeast Releases New Music Video For 'Blood Moon' Today

The beast is unleashed! Today, WARBEAST releases their brand new, horror-flick inspired music video for the track ‘Blood Moon’. The song is cut from their new album Destroy, released last week via Housecore Records. You can watch the video now exclusively at Noisecreep.com.

The video tells the terrifying story of Gnmange', a tormented Werewolf, and his need to exist. The video was directed by Mike Holderbeast of Cement Level Studios NOLA, known for his recent work with Down on their music video for the track ‘Witchtripper’. The video features the acting talents of WARBEAST guitarist Scott Shelby and slayed victims Amber Michelle and Sarah Vaz, and features special effects work by Molly Federline.

As the star of the video, guitarist Scott Shelby was able to experience all of the video’s special effects and behind the scenes tricks first-hand. “First, Director Mike Holderbeast came to our rehearsal space at Zativa Studios in Texas. There, we filmed the jamming parts of the video in front of black screens and green screens. Next came the werewolf part, which had me going to New Orleans to Mike’s place. I followed his directing tips in order to become and transform into the Beast with professional makeup artist and lots of blood. We filmed in the French quarters and step by step did the transformation— ripping flesh, growing teeth, and turning into the Beast which had been caged and taunted by two beautiful women. The beast eventually slaughters both of them in this classic horror film metal video!”

“‘Blood Moon’ is a special song to me because I wrote it years ago. Bringing it back to life with WARBEAST is an honor and long overdue,” adds Shelby. “Plus, Bruce put his horror movie lyrics to it, which are the icing on the cake. Warbeast To Release New Album 'Destroy' On April 2, 2013

Texas thrash heavyweights WARBEAST are pleased to reveal the upcoming release date for their upcoming full length album, Destroy. The new album, produced by Philip H. Anselmo and engineered by Stephen "The Big Fella" Berrigan, will hit stores and digital retailers on April 2, 2013 via Housecore Records. Destroy was recorded at Nodferatu's Lair in May and July 2012 and mixed by Anselmo and Berrigan. The album artwork and concept were designed by “Carcass” John Fossum with graphic and technical adviser John Deleon.

A CD release show for Destroy will take place at The Rail Club in Fort Worth, TX on April 6, 2013. This is currently the first live date WARBEAST has planned for 2013 after the close of their current tour, “The Weed & Speed Tour: West Coast Throwdown in the Year of XIII”, with headliners Down. The tour ends today in Chattanooga, TN.

**JUST ANNOUNCED – In a statement released today from WARBEAST vocalist Bruce Corbitt – “WARBEAST Bassist Dre’ Karst will be leaving the band because he is unable to keep up with our busy touring schedule due to his work occupation.  We are saddened that Dre’ has to leave the band.  But we will be the first to acknowledge that Dre’ did an amazing job while he was in WARBEAST.  He only had two weeks to prepare to record our upcoming full-length album Destroy.  He also kicked ass at all of the shows and on the three tours with Down.  So please everyone… join us in giving Dre’ his props for what he accomplished in his time in WARBEAST.  THANKS SO MUCH DRE’!!!  We will miss ya bro… thanks for being part of our family.”

WARBEAST recently released their new split album with PHILIP H. ANSELMO, entitled War of the Gargantuas. The split, released via Housecore Records, includes two songs from each artist. This album serves as the first release of any solo work by PHILIP ANSELMO during the span of his nearly 30-year legacy. Also, the two WARBEAST tracks on the split feature former bassist Alan Bovee before his amicable departure from the band. Since then, Dre Karst has joined on bass.
