Today GWAR continues in their tradition of reuniting classic bands to play at the GWAR-B-Q, with the addition of the X-Cops!  That's right the original lineup featuring Lt. Louie Scrapinetti (Mike Derks), Cadet Billy Club (Mike Dunn), Patrolman Cobb Knobbler (Dave Brockie), Sgt. Al Depantsia (Pete Lee), Sherriff Tubb Tucker (Casey Orr), Mountain Bike Officer Biff Buff (Brad Roberts), Sgt. Zypygski (Bob Gorman), and Detective Philip McRevis (Dave Musel) are reuniting for one night only at this year's GWAR-B-Q!  This will serve as the bands first show since 1996.

X-Cops's bass "man" Cobb Knobbler commented on the reunion of the band:

"I am excited to get the boys together for one last gig, especially since I have become a member of the Westboro Baptist Church."

Sherriff Tubb Tucker Motherfucker of All Motherfuckers added:

"Alright you lowlife dirtbags, listen up!  X-Cops have been hired on as crowd control for the 4th annual GWAR-B-Q.  I'm here to tell all of you faggot punks that we will be in full force to put the beat down on any of you little shits that step out of line! That's right! After years of deep cover, the original X-Cops team has been reassembled to make sure there's no bullshit at this fine event. We will be on hand to confiscate all your drugs, accept donations to our policeman's balls, and thoroughly pat down your girlfriends. So bring drugs, money, and women! As you were."

Three more bands have been added to the GWAR-B-Q lineup.  Fresh off their tour with GWAR, Wilson and Warbeast will be making their first GWAR-B-Q appearance.  Metal Blade Records artist Battlecross have been confirmed as well.  Rumor has it that there are still huge special guests to be announced.  Stay tuned to http://www.gwarbq.com for the latest info.

Already confirmed for the GWAR-B-Q are local favorites and international thrashers Municipal Waste will provide main support to the mighty GWAR, and in turn will be supported by a plethora of devastating acts like Corrosion of Conformity, Pig Destroyer, Cannabis Corpse, Loincloth, Kung-Fu Dykes and many more. Once again Hadad's will host not one but TWO stages which will be packed with bands all day...and finally there are rumors of a yet-to-be-announced act that will put this year's GWAR-B-Q 2013 completely over the top!

The event is scheduled to take place Saturday August 17th, 2013 at Hadad's Water Park in Richmond, VA, located at 7900 Osbourne Turnpike.  Doors will open at 10:00 AM and the first band will hit the stage at 11:00 AM.  For more information be sure to visit: http://gwarbq.com/.  Ticket information will be announced shortly.

Quoth Oderus, straight from his holiday in Stalingrad, "Holy hate-balls, all these bands are playing at our GWAR-B-Q? And we have our own GWAR-B-Q sauce, that actually tastes good? And we will be premiering our new beer, Impaled Ale? I think this is more fun than the humans deserve! Now I am back to driving tanks into the river! See you there, fuckers!"

Gwar Confirms Date & Initial Band Lineup For 4th Annual Gwar-B-Q

Antarctic rock-gods GWAR today released the first line-up for this year's GWAR-B-Q, located at Hadad's Water Park in Richmond, VA. This year sees the event entering its fourth consecutive year while offering its most bone-crushing line-up yet, setting the stage for what will certainly be the most massive GWAR-B-Q in the history of the human or any other race!

Local faves and international thrashers Municipal Waste will provide main support to the mighty GWAR, and in turn will be supported by a plethora of devastating acts like Corrosion of Conformity, Pig Destroyer, Cannabis Corpse, Loincloth, Kung-Fu Dykes and many more. Once again Hadad's will host not one but TWO stages which will be packed with bands all day...and finally there are rumors of a yet-to-be-announced act that will put this year's GWAR-B-Q 2013 completely over the top!

"Once again we blow the horn of war and set into motion the gears that grind us towards the greatest GWAR-B-Q yet," said unrepentantly horny front-thing Oderus Urungus, fresh off debuting GWAR's new "GWAR-B-Q" sauce at a strongly attended event at the world-famous Grinders in Kansas City (see more details HERE). "We will not only be rockin' like Dokken and slippin' the cock in, but we will shoving a wealth of GWAR products down your throat...not only our new GWAR-B-Q sauce, but our very own beer, Impaled Ale! Eat and drink yourself into a diabetic stupor, then puke it all up in the slam pit! It's gonna fucking rule!"

That's right, the 4th annual GWAR-B-Q is poised to make yet another stinky mess in the crotch of today's scene--BE THERE OR SUFFER THE SHAME OF BEING INCREDIBLY PATHETIC!

In other Slave Pit news GWAR is wrapping up a new album, their 13th, which is the band's first since the passing of longtime guitarist Cory Smoot in late 2011. Coming out later this year, the album features the debut of Pustulus Maximus, cousin of the mighty departed one, Flattus Maximus. The band kicks off their tour tonight in Tucson, AZ and will be on the road through April 25th in Jacksonville, FL. These dates will serve as the final leg of the "Fate or Chaos" tour, which chronicles GWAR's epic struggle with an angry God.

Slave Pit "Gwartist" Announces Print Line

The man behind the mask of Oderus Urungus, Dave Brockie, today unveiled a new web-store where fans can buy limited-edition, high quality art prints of not only Brockie's GWAR drawings, but many of his other illustrations. Culled from select images spanning a 30-year career as an artist and illustrator, these highly-collectable prints are now available to the public. Check out www.theartofdavebrockie.com

"For years I have been doing custom paintings and drawings for people and I have gotten so far behind that I constantly have to turn down people looking to get some of my work. A high-quality print line web store will give everybody a chance to have a Brockie on their wall." said the artist from GWAR's "Slave Pit", their Richmond studio.

Dave Brockie is to many a footnote to the name most people know him by--that of Oderus Urungus, foul-mouthed alien barbarian and longtime lead singer of GWAR, the world's foremost horror-rock spectacle. GWAR's legendary live shows and relentless work-ethic have earned the group of artists and musicians from Richmond, Va. an international reputation as the cutting-edge of outrageous, "Grand Guignol"-style metal theater, and won them legions of fans worldwide. In the course of the groups 25+ year-long career Brockie, as President of Slave Pit Inc., GWAR's parent production company, has consistently spearheaded the group's efforts, not only as the bands lead singer and public mouthpiece, but also as an artist involved in many of GWAR's graphic projects.

Brockie continued on like the blowhard that he is. "I actually graduated art school even though I knew it was no guarantee of employment. Nevertheless I deluded myself that I was going to become a fine artist and was painting these giant squiggly blob paintings that actually looked pretty cool, but were never going to pay the bills. I worked construction and knocked over liquor stores to do that. But I was also into comics and illustration and when GWAR started to happen it gave me a great venue for my work. Suddenly I was being called upon to do flyers, t-shirts, comics…even album covers. That turned into a 25+ year stretch where I was always making art of some kind. It's about damn time I had my own print line!"

The prints are signed and numbered by the artist and are part of a limited edition of 1000 per image. The prints use the highest quality paper and inks, and are mounted on a piece of masonite that features a custom-made 3-D frame that is a throwback to Brockie's early "squiggle" paintings.

"I hope this is a big success," said Brockie. "I am going on a pilgrimage to Stalingrad this spring and need money for booze and food. Plus I got kicked in the mouth by a circus-mule and need extensive dental-work. "After I get this print site going, I plan to disappear.  It is time for GWAR."

The band has a run of shows scheduled for this April, which are the last stops of the "Fate or Chaos" tour, which chronicles GWAR's epic struggle with an angry God. It has been rumored that GWAR will be testing out songs from the new album on these dates.

"Yes! We Will!" confirmed Oderus.

The band is also venturing into the culinary arts with a signature "GWAR-B-Q" sauce, which they will be debuting at a colossal "Meat & Meet" to be held at the world famous "Grinders" in Kansas City on Monday April 8th from 4-6 PM.

August will see the fourth annual GWAR-B-Q, the group's annual outdoor music and meat-fest which is getting more massive every year. The new album's release follows soon after, and then the band will embark on a mega-huge world tour that will continue well into 2014. Sounds like business as usual for the hardest working band in show biz.

Gwar To Hold "Meat And Meet" Bash To Kick Off Spring Tour

Antarctic metal monsters GWAR are kicking off their spring run of dates with a special "Meat and Meet" at the world-famous Grinders in Kansas City, MO. The "Meat and Meet" is scheduled for Monday April 8th from 6-8 PM.

This event is not only for GWAR to drink and eat themselves into a bloated coma with their legions of slavering fans, but to announce and introduce their brand-new and 100% edible "GWAR-B-Q" sauce, personally created for human consumption by none other than GWAR's steel-faced guitar player, Balsac, the Jaws of Death.

"This new taste sensation is mostly made out of the blood of really hot chicks", explained the surprisingly cordial space-barbarian. "It was a terrible waste of fine ass, but ultimately worth it because this sauce is absolutely delicious!"

GWAR will be kicking off the second leg of the "Fate or Chaos" tour on April 10th in Tucson, AZ and will run through April 25th in Jacksonville, Florida. Support on the tour will come from Warbeast and Wilson. All dates can be found below.

The summer will also herald the fourth annual GWAR-B-Q, and this year is shaping-up to have the most colossal, bone-crushing line-up yet! But that's not all from your toxic mutant under-lords. Rumors of boxed sets, GWAR-B-Q sauce, GWAR beer, and long-awaited "comedy" albums abound. Further details about all of these projects would have to wait until "we get our shit together", said Oderus.
