Death Angel Set To Enter Studio To Record New Album!

LegendaryBay Area thrash metallers DEATH ANGEL will enter AudioHammer Studios next month to begin recording the follow up to their 2010 release, Relentless Retribution. Guitarist Rob Cavestany recently checked in to give the following update:

“After nearly 3 years of nonstop touring for Relentless Retribution, we are about to enter the studio to record our seventh album! We are playing the final show of the Relentless Retribution Tour on March 31 in Holland, fly home for a few days of final pre-production rehearsals in Oakland, then begin tracking in Florida on April 8.

Relentless turned out the way we wanted so we we're taking it to the next level with the same team. The new album will be done at AudioHammer Studios with Jason Suecof and I producing. We had a blast doing the last record there and now we know each other better and how well we work together... plus the album cover art is being done by Brent Elliot White who did Relentless Retribution. Let's just say we have a good feeling about this one.

It was our idea all along to go directly into the studio following the end of this tour, without taking time off. We always take a break after an album's touring cycle ends. You basically have to after spending so much time on the road, traveling and performing constantly. But not this time! This tour is the longest one we've ever done and that live energy is in our new songs! The glory and the heartache, it's all there.

That said, all the music has been written - much of it on tour buses during the past couple of years, the rest of it in the studio over the past few months. This is some of the heaviest, fastest, most powerful material we've ever created! There's something really dark in it too...  music is and always will be our outlet to vent and release the built up pressure that life deals.  In the world today we need it more than ever!!!

Currently the new record is slated for release in October 2013.  Of course a massive tour will follow!  It's our mission to deliver, we ain't fuckin’ around! Thank you all for your support! Big Hug!”

Relentless Retribution sold around 2,700 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 10 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200. The record also came in at #188 on Billboards Top Current Albums chart, making it DEATH ANGEL’s highest charting record since the bands reformation in 2004.

Relentless Retribution was recorded at Audio Hammer Studios in Sanford, Florida with production genius Jason Suecof (TRIVIUM, AUGUST BURNS RED, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, ALL THAT REMAINS, WHITE CHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER). Anthrax, Testament, Death Angel Share Metal Knowledge

Metal Injection & Peavey presents Louder Education, a new collaborative show starring Testament shredder Alex Skolnick, Sound Of Urchin's Chris “Tomato” Harfenist, and the students of T.H.O.R. (Tomato's House of Rock). Each week on the series, a new special guest is invited to Tomato's House of Rock, to discuss their journey in the music business, provide educational tips for the growing artists, and round off the show with a kick-ass jam with the kids. 

On this edition, the gang takes a road trip to the Best Buy Theater in New York City to visit with Testament's Chuck Billy & Gene Hoglan, Anthrax's Rob Caggiano and Death Angel's Rob Cavestany . All the bands discussed music discovery when they were growing up, compared to now, playing music, favorite albums and more. It all culminates with an ultimate jam of Testament's "Souls of Black" with Alex Skolnick and the T.H.O.R. Kids.

Bonded By Blood Kick Off U.S. Headlining Tour

BONDED BY BLOOD kicked off a headlining US tour Friday, September 21st - in support of the band's new album, THE AFTERMATH.

BONDED BY BLOOD are currently gearing up for a headlining US tour in support of their new studio album, THE AFTERMATH.

The tour kicks off on September 21st in Berkeley, California, before the band teams up with DEATH ANGEL, THREAT SIGNAL and WRETCHED on October 7th for more shows.

Death Angel To Perform "The Ultra-Violence" In Its Entirety

LegendaryBay Area thrash metallers DEATH ANGEL have added headlining dates around their upcoming tour with TESTAMENT and ANTHRAX this Fall! The group will also perform their 1987 classic, The Ultra-Violence, in its entirety at these shows.

“We had such a blast on the first two legs that we had to come back for thirds,” commented guitarist Rob Cavestany. “TESTAMENT, ANTHRAX, DEATH ANGEL North American Tour Part III coming at ya live this September/October!  This run will see us performing more dates in Canada since our ‘Frolic Through the Park Tour’ in 1988!

To top it off, after that tour ends, we continue on the road in the states with headline shows in support of the Silver Anniversary of our debut album The Ultra-Violence.  We will be performing the entire album from beginning to end. We have never done this in the USA so prepare for a wicked set of pure old school THRASH!

Looking forward to seeing all our crazy fans, friends and family out on the road again soon!  Until then we shall use all the energy we’ve stored up from nonstop touring to continue writing our next album!”
