Vans Celebrates 3 Million Facebook Likes With Mastodon Event

Vans and Mastodon are teaming up to create an exclusive event on September 27th for Vans' Facebook fans to celebrate reaching 3 million Likes at the end of August.  A hub for all things Vans including the concert webcasts, team rider chats and the latest product updates, Vans' Facebook community tripled in size after reaching the million fan mark a year ago.

As a big thanks to all of you for 3 million Likes on Facebook, we've called in a favor from some of our friends. Mastodon will be doing a LIVE chat from their studio on September 27th, which is the release date for Mastodon's highly anticipated new studio album, The Hunter.  This is Mastodon's 5th studio album and follows their universally acclaimed concept album, Crack the Skye released in March 2009. The Hunter is the 3rd studio album released on Reprise Records in the US and Canada and their first to be released on Roadrunner Records outside of North America. The band will have plenty to talk about so make sure to be prepared to have your witty, scintillating questions answered with equally razor-sharp, sardonic answers from the band, and in the meantime check our page for more special Mastodon announcements."

Fans can pre-order the album now at www.mastodonrocks.com. As always, various versions will available to chose from: The Hunter Limited Edition Package will include a CD/DVD housed in a digi-pack with an exclusive alternative artwork cover, a 20" x 30" Lenticular Poster featuring the album cover of the standard CD, a mid-blowing Augmented Reality Experience by Total Immersion and will contain exclusive content only available to this package. Tour dates will be announced shortly. Until then, keep an eye on the bands official website and stay tuned to Vans' Facebook page for more details as we salute our loyal fans.

For now, delight your eyeballs with some quality Mastodon video clips for your viewing pleasure:

Mastodon Reveal Album Title And Six New Song Titles

Heavy rock innovators Mastodon have revealed the title of their new album plus six new song titles that will appear on their next full-length studio album to be released on Reprise Records later this year. The new LP, THE HUNTER, will include the tracks: "Curl Of The Burl," "Dry Bone Valley," "Blasteroids," "The Octopus Has No Friends," "All The Heavy Lifting," and "Stargasm." Complete details to be announced soon.

The follow-up to 2009's critically embraced CRACK THE SKYE was recorded in the band's hometown of Atlanta as well as in Los Angeles with producer Mike Elizondo. As with all of their albums, Mastodon, which is bassist/vocalist Troy Sanders, guitarist/vocalist Brent Hinds, guitarist Bill Keliher, and drummer/vocalist Brann Dailor, decided to take a completely different tack and musical approach to the music on this album. The band feels confident that fans will be excited and fulfilled by what they will hear.

Beginning tomorrow June 28th, fans can log on to www.adultswim.com/singles to download a rare and previously unreleased song from the CRACK THE SKYE sessions, titled "Deathbound," as part of the ten week 2011 Adult Swim Singles Program. The same destination will also offer an amazing exclusive video for the song. This is the only place to see and hear this Mastodon rarity.

In addition, Mastodon has a brand new T-shirt design available in their official store at www.mastodonrocks.com now.  The "In The Teeth" shirt can be seen by clicking the hyperlink.
