Six Feet Under: New “18 Days” Lyric Video

Today premier horror portal Bloody Disgusting hosts the latest “18 Days” lyric video from death metal merchants, SIX FEET UNDER. The apocalyptic hymn comes off the band’s forthcoming new studio effort, Undead, set for North American release on May 22, 2012 through Metal Blade Records.

Notorious for his elegiac themes of murder, death and the supernatural, on Undead vocalist and lyrical mastermind Chris Barnes revisits topics that will be familiar to fans of the band, though as always he brings something new to the table, aware that their followers will not accept recycled ideas. Notes Barnes: “The hypocrisies of daily life, things that affect us that spawn aggression, loneliness, sadness, there’s a lot of emotions going on across the record, and I guess that the dark horror that humans cause is my niche,” However, while Barnes has a very clear vision for his craft, he is always excited by the interpretations of his songs by those who listen to them, feeding on the emotional investment they put in. “I love it when people tell me what they’ve got from the music and the lyrics. It’s like being an artist, you put the painting up on the wall – you know what it is, but sometimes it’s a little abstract and someone sees something else in it, and that’s the biggest compliment to me. That I’m able to get inside someone’s head and they actually give thought to something presented to them is inspiring to me too, and something I always want to be able to do with this band.”

Undead was produced by Mark Lewis (Deicide, Devildriver), mixed by Jason Suecof (Whitechapel, Job For A Cowboy), at Audio Hammer Studios in Sanford, Florida and features the updated lineup of Barnes alongside guitarist Rob Arnold (ex- Chimaira), longtime guitarist Steve Swanson (ex-Massacre), bassist Jeff Hughell (ex-Brain Drill, ex-Vile), and drummer Kevin Talley (Dying Fetus, Misery Index, Chimaira). Last week Metal Blade TV aired an exclusive interview with Barnes as conducted by Metal Blade CEO Brian Slagel. In conjunction with the release of Undead, SIX FEET UNDER will demolish the masses on a near three-week run of live rituals this June. The 18 Nights Of Blood Tour will begin in Atlanta, Georgia on June 8. Support will be provided by Dying Fetus and Revocation.

Cattle Decapitation: Exclusive Video Premiere At Bloody Disgusting

Today prime horror one-stop, Bloody Disgusting, hosts the exclusive premiere of “Kingdom of Tyrants” from CATTLE DECAPITATION’s forthcoming Monolith Of Inhumanity studio offering. The disturbingly twisted 9-minute mini-film was directed by Mitch Massie with live band footage shot in San Marcos, California by Tyson Montrucchio.

Comments singer Travis Ryan: "We've kicked around the idea of doing a mini-film out of a song that has a big intro for years now and when I saw Mitch Massie's work on one of our friends' videos, we knew he would be the one to pull it off. We had no idea he would bring it to a level such as this though. The ‘Kingdom of Tyrants’ mini-film completely leveled our expectations. Having given him director styles I would have liked to see used such as Matthew Barney, Harmony Korine and Ridley Scott, I still never assumed we would have received something so in line with what we had in mind for this as what you see here with this video. It's disturbing. It’s thought-provoking. It’s 100% CATTLE DECAPITATION and in the direction we've been heading. Massie is the man and this is by far the best video we've ever had the pleasure to be a part of."

Adds director Mitch Massie: "I acknowledge that I will rightfully burn in some subdivision of Hell for even attempting a rough tribute to Kubrick, but at least I will make Hell a home with CATTLE DECAPITATION and a few other damned risk-takers as neighbors. When Travis and I spoke about the concept it was a comforting fact that he too had reservations about picking fruits from the Kubrick tree. It wasn't until the first night of production was over and we sat down to watch the shaky rough footage when a rather sardonic thought sparked the flint that ignited the funeral pyre in me, ‘fuck it, while we are here, as parts of our generation that dry-humps references in an over-saturated landfill of technological trinkets -- where nothing is sacred -- anyway, we might as well bury the rest of the masters in the filth they inspired in us and enter our homes justified. I'm a soulless ginger anyway so what do I care about these new risks of damnation when I never had a chance to begin with?’ Every move made in a music video production is dictated only by the song and when listening to the ‘The Monolith’ and/or ‘Kingdom of Tyrants’ can one truly feel it is anything but a beautiful damnation? I will never know but can only hope that I married images with the song so well that the monolith may swing back around with a chance to evolve, or completely de-evolve into some foul animal, and do another damned project for this incendiary and all around amazing band."

Witness the cinematic sickness at THIS LOCATION

An achievement that stands out as one of the most volatile, ambitious, and impossible-to-pigeonhole records of 2012, Monolith Of Inhumanity is set for a North American release on May 8, 2012. Produced by Dave Otero of Denver's Flatline Audio, the 11-track recording sees the progressive grind purveyors exploring innovative new techniques in song writing without abandoning their signature formula of confrontational audio wreckage. In addition, Monolith Of Inhumanity features a host of guests including Mike Majewski of Devourment (guest vocals on "Projectile Ovulation"), Lenard Leal of Cephalic Carnage (backing vocals by on "A Living, Breathing Piece of Defecating Meat"), The Cephalic Carnage Community Men's Choir, consisting of all current Cephalic members and alumni Jawsh Mullen and Zac Joe (gang choir vocals on "The Carbon Stampede"), and ambient and noise interludes by Los Angeles' most extreme decimator of sound, John Wiese. As with all of the band’s releases, Monolith Of Inhumanity revolves around a central concept, building upon Ryan’s potent distaste for contemporary civilization and the damage wrought in the name of progress. A concept inspired in part by 2001: A Space Odyssey is once again captured in the cover art by longtime collaborator Wes Benscoter, depicting a bleak apocalyptic future and the regression of mankind into apes.

In related news, CATTLE DECAPITATION is currently bringing their audio pummel to the stage on the Occupation Domination 2012 tour. The band is joined by Origin, Decrepit Birth, Aborted, Rings Of Saturn, Battlecross and more! Check out confirmed dates below:

Goatwhore Premiere New Music Video On Bloody Disgusting

Head over to Bloody-Disgusting.com to check out the worldwide premiere of the new music video for When Steel and Bone Meet, shot with David Brodsky of My Good Eye at the infamous house of horrors, the House of Shock in New Orleans, LA. Be sure to catch the New Orleans, LA natives when they hit the road this summer as a part of the Summer Slaughter tour with label-mates Cannibal Corpse, which goes down after they finish up their European run with 3 Inches of Blood.

GOATWHORE debuted on Billboard Magazine's Top 200 Current Albums chart coming in at #171 with their latest release Blood for the Master, which sold over 3,100 copies in its first week. Blood for the Master, which just hit streets on February 14, also debuted on the following Billboard charts: #4 on the Heatseeker (New Artist) chart, #12 on the Current Hard Music chart, #21 on the Hard Music Chart (overall**), and #31 on Top Independent Albums chart and hit iTunes Rock chart at #19*. Blood for the Master also hit charts in Canada coming in at #142 on the Top 200 Current Albums chart, #18 on the Hard Chart, #1 on iTunes Metal*, #17 iTunes Rock*, and #152 iTunes Top 200*. (*iTunes numbers from street date - **chart includes catalog)

Here’s what press has had to say about the band’s latest release, Blood for the Master:

"Blood for the Master reeks of blasphemy, brimstone, Jagermeister and fire… more riffs, more plutonium-grade heaviness and more of the extreme metal genre-blending that made Carving such an enjoyable kick in the teeth." Decibel Magazine

"Blood for the Master is free of irony, pretentiousness, and bullshit… No frills rarely gets more satisfying than this." MetalSucks.net

"They still cherry pick the best elements from the fertile fields of black, thrash and death, but they've set their sights on classic metal this time round, and its influence shows in the comparatively straightforward thrills contained in this offering" 4/5 Kerrang Magazine

"This combination of ingredients — old-school riffage, modern sheen, charismatic singer, insanely metaaal imagery — makes for a record that’s almost impossible not to like." MetalReview.com

"Led by the premier riffin' rhythm work of Sammy Duet and Zack Simmons, and foisted above tinny black-metal mediocrity courtesy of Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal)'s megalithic production, Blood for the Master stands as Goatwhore's most interesting album in years and comes highly recommended." SLUG Magazine

"They’re tenacious, seemingly indefatigable, and continuously searching for that seamless synthesis of menacing malevolence and murderous musicality." Hellbound.ca

"If somebody could capture the speed of the harshest winds in the Antarctic they might come close to understanding the High Rocktane insanity of Goatwhore." CraveOnline.com

"Goatwhore have released what is easily the best album of their career." Metal-Army.com

"There’s more fantastic thrash moments mixing in nicely with the core black metal sound and the repetition isn’t there as much this time around. It’s a dirty, grimey record but catchy as hell and well worth the attention it’s getting. So yeah, I’m just like everyone else and tossing this one on my short list for best album of 2012." Popdose.com

"There may be other bands who tout this black/death style, but very few can make it both catchy and devastating. Goatwhore have been getting better as the years wear on, and this album established them as a metal band not to be ignored." About.com

"this is one of the best straight-up Metal releases I’ve heard in a long time." 9/10 metal-temple.com

"an album that can only be described as an unholy harmony of pure, savage metal." Lithium Magazine

"It’s a punishing and thunderous listen hellbent on relentless forward velocity." ThePRP.com

"Blood for the Master is a record that twists and turns effortlessly; each of the tracks are direct, passionate and emptied of frivolous, extraneous melodrama. This is ferocious, menacing and utterly beguiling stuff." AlternativeMatter.net

"Catchy yet menacing riffs exude punk rock attitude and a variety of rhythms, tempos and song structures make for a completely entertaining listen." Exclaim Magazine

"For those that continue to compare them to Celtic Frost mark this day on your calendar: Blood For The Master is the day Goatwhore far surpassed this clichéd reference and became the kings of their own nightmare." WeLoveMetal.com

Charred Walls Of The Damned Debut "Zerospan" Video

Richard Christy of Charred Walls of the Damned has been hinting at a new video since November 2011, when the trailer was released. Zerospan was directed and edited by Mike Schiff (Charred Wall's previous 'Ghost Town' video) and Sean McEwen (Albino Farm) with special effects/make up by Brian Spears and Pete Gerner from G and S Effects (Stakeland). The lead actor in the video is Bryan Haeffele.

Richard Christy elaborates on the video's concept:
I'm so excited that fans will finally be able to see the "Zerospan" video after many months of hard work! For fans of horror like myself, this video is the perfect mix of technological horror and all out brutality. The "Zerospan" video is like a mini horror film and the story follows the lyrical subject matter perfectly and creates a haunting vision of a man absorbed by the world's ever growing technology. What it comes down to, though, is that it's pretty much just a kick ass heavy metal video! Big thanks to Mike, Sean, Brian, Pete, Bryan, Metal Blade, and everyone who helped make this video awesome!

Zerospan can be seen now at BloodyDisgusting.com HERE.

Colds Winds On Timeless Days, the latest album from Charred Walls of the Damned, is available worldwide now. Listen to Ashes Falling Upon Us, watch videos of Richard Christy tracking drums for the album, and order now over at http://www.metalblade.com/cwotd.

"a 58-minute barrage of cutting-edge power metal abounding with tumbling polyrhythms, asymmetrical riffs, and unconventional arrangements. Though technically demanding, the songs are focused by the tuneful, vibrato-laden vocals of Tim "Ripper Owens and the crafty guitar work and stellar production of Jason Suecof." 4/5 stars, Revolver Magazine

"Charred Walls of the Damned are a rarity in the metal world — a supergroup that’s actually super…I defy you to listen to it and not raise a pair of invisible elephantiasis-afflicted nuts towards the sky. It’s impossible. It just can’t be done." MetalSucks.net

"It's smart, it's melodic, and it's sure to get the head banging. A quality slice of US metal." Big Cheese Magazine

"complicated riffs and numerous tempo shifts… the musicianship is flawless… technical skill is top-notch" About.com
