Melechesh Announce Headlining North American Tour

Mesopotamian thrashing black metal pioneers MELECHESH will be returning to North America this June for a headlining tour in support of their fifth studio album The Epigenesis.  Support will come from Norway’s Vreid and two bands from Los Angeles: Lightning Swords Of Death & Reign Of Lies.

MELECHESH frontman & guitarist Ashmedi shares the following: 

"We are looking forward to touring North America… and this time as headliners!  The crowd over there made us feel very welcome on previous occasions.  Naturally, this time we will have the chance to extend our live set offering more of our Sumerian sonic magick.  It will be a great tour with special and talented guests playing with us.  Last but not least, it will be our first time playing Mexico!  About time!"

Svartsyn Premiere New Song In Sweden Rock Magazine

Swedish black metal band SVARTSYN unveiled the second track off the upcoming full-length album entitled "Black Testament".

 The album is coming to shops on the 28th of May in Europe and 11th of June in North America on Agonia Records.
 

According to the band founder and mastermind - Ornias -  "Black Testament" can be described as a "sinister mix between Destruction Of Man (2003) and Timeless Reign (2007) releases." He also added: "it's a journey through my spiritual darkness and death."

Vreid: Norwegian Black ‘N’ Roll Legion To Return To North America

Norwegian black ‘n’ roll legion VREID will take their hell hymns to the streets this June on a North American tour alongside headliners Melechesh. Set to commence June 16 in Los Angeles, California, the long-awaited trek includes two weeks of live assaults and will come to a close in New York City on June 30th. ^.Additional support will come from Lightning Swords Of Death and Reign Of Lies.

VREID will be touring in support of their mammoth Welcome Farewell full-length released in North American via Indie Recordings on March 5, 2013. Commended by Decibel Magazine for “expanding their battleground, refining their attacks, and planting their flag square in the skulls of weaker genre purists,” and appropriately crowned “energetic, infectious, virulently catchy, and furiously, belligerently aggressive,” by No Clean Singing, Welcome Farewell was recorded at bassist Hváll’s own Studio 1184 and is easily the band’s most potent work to date.

Formed in 2004 following the demise of ‘’Sognametal” legends Windir and described by Metal Hammer UK as a “unique time-travel in metal,” VREID seamlessly merge the prime tenets of ‘70s rock, ‘80s classic metal and Norwegian black metal into a difficult-to-pinpoint, expertly arranged sound implosion. Notorious for their well-researched, historically-inspired lyrics, the band’s third and fourth offerings, I Krig and Milorg, were both concept albums based around the liberation work in Norway during World War II. Liberation was also the keyword on VREID’s last offering, V, but placed in a broader historical/philosophic perspective. The lyrics on Welcome Farewell describe a lifecycle through a series of short stories, seen from an existential point of view and, inspired by Hváll’s own local community with its nature, architecture and historical artists such as Arne Garborg and Otto Valstad, are more personal than ever before.

Pest Reveals New Album Details

Swedish black metal outfit PEST revealed details of their forthcoming album out on Agonia Records. Band's fourth full-length entitled "The Crowning Horror" will hit the shops on the 18th of June in Europe and 9th of July in North America. Cover of the album is available below.

The album is preceded by a 7" EP titled "Black Oath c/w Morbid Revelations" released on April 16 worldwide. The limited version of the EP (bone white vinyl) is already sold out.

"The Crowning Horror" is PEST's first in 5 years time, highly anticipated album. It was mixed by Fred Estby (Dismemebr/Carnage/Necronaut) at Gutterview Recorders and mastered by Andy Jackson (Pink Floyd's engineer, Grammy nominee) at Tube Mastering, UK. The release will be available on a noble 8 panel digipack CD, digitally and on vinyl (first 100 copies on a solid, purple wax vinyl).

The band is recommended for fans of Bathory, Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, Nifelheim or older Deströyer 666 and similar.

Eibon "II" Full Album Stream And Pre-Order Available Now

The new LP from parisian blackened sludge/doom horde EIBON is up for full streaming and vinyl pre-order. "II" will be released on May 1st by Throatruiner Records and Aesthetic Death. After two splits, one MCD and one full-length, "II" marks the band's bleakest and most ambitious material to date.

Recorded in a live setting by Sylvain Biguet (Comity, Revok, As We Draw…) then mixed and mastered by Francis Caste (Arkhon Infaustus, Kickback, Cowards…), "The Void Settlers" and "Elements Of Doom" are two massive twenty-minutes tracks where EIBON refine their very own vision of slow and painful music, infusing their raw sludge/doom with black metal and more atmospheric parts.
