Avenged Sevenfold Return To Middle East

(for more photos in this set go HERE)

February 13, 2012 - LOS ANGELES, CA - AVENGED SEVENFOLD announced today that they will be returning to the Far and Middle East beginning April 16th in Tokyo, Japan, for a tour that will culminate in a special show in Dubai, UAE on May 4th.

"We are excited to go back to the Far and Middle East," said AVENGED SEVENFOLD front man M. Shadows. "We played to some of the most amazing crowds when we toured the album there, and we can't wait to bring our live show back to our friends in those regions."

Long time friends Metallica have asked AVENGED SEVENFOLD to perform at the first ever Orion Music + More at Bader Field in Atlantic City, NJ, on June 24th.  M. Shadows had this to say:  "We really hadn't planned to play the United States in 2012.  But after Lars called to describe their plans for Orion and asked us to join them, we decided there's no way we would miss it."   The band toured with Metallica in 2006 as part of Metallica's "Escape From The Studio Tour" and that year M. Shadows and Metallica's James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich were featured together on the cover of Revolver Magazine. 3 years later, AVENGED SEVENFOLD toured with Metallica on their "World Magnetic" tour.

In July 2010, AVENGED SEVENFOLD released their fifth studio album Nightmare, which earned the band its highest-ever debut on the Billboard album chart when it bowed at No. 1 and topped the Rock, Hard Rock, and Digital charts. It has been certified gold by the RIAA and has scanned upwards of 660,000 units. The album spawned three hit singles - the gold-certified singles "Nightmare" and "Welcome To The Family," and "So Far Away" - each of which peaked at Number 1 on the Media Base Active Rock chart. The title track was the most-played current song at Media Base Active Rock for 2010.   AVENGED SEVENFOLD have toured incessantly on their "Buried Alive" and "Welcome to the Family" tours selling out arenas around the world. They also headlined the Uproar Tour and the first annual Carolina Rebellion Festival in 2011 where the band played to a sold-out crowd of over 30,000 fans. The band also toured Iraq with the USO and has played to nearly 1,000,000 people in the last two years.   Their breakout album City of Evil and the Live In The LBC DVD have both been certified platinum and the band's self-titled album has been certified gold.

Metallica Announce Creation Of New Annual Music And Arts Festival

Metallica, in conjunction with friends C3 Presents, today announced the creation of Orion Music + More, a new annual music, arts, and lifestyle festival founded and headlined by the band, a natural progression for a band that has headlined legendary festivals around the world for years.  Orion Music + More will take place June 23-24 at Bader Field in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

"We've had the idea of doing our own lifestyle festival with lots of diverse music and fun and games for years," said Lars Ulrich.  "Finally this year all the practical ducks lined up in a row, and we are beyond psyched to bring Orion to our fans, friends and the curious.   After the most incredible of weeks ever in December 2011 celebrating our 30th anniversary at the Fillmore in San Francisco, CA, bringing the spirit of that week, the looseness of that week, the possibilities of that week, the fan interactive elements of that week, and the (fill in your own blank here) of that week to a festival setting is so exciting we can hardly contain ourselves."

Orion Music + More will feature multiple live music stages plus a lifestyle element that reflects each of Metallica's band members many personal interests.  Metallica will headline both nights of Orion Music + More and play "The Black Album" in its entirety one night Ride The Lightning in its entirety the other.  This will be the only time the band will perform these albums in North America in 2012.   The lineup for Orion Music + More will span multiple musical genres.   From punk to country, over 20 bands will perform, including:  Arctic Monkeys, Avenged Sevenfold, Modest Mouse, The Gaslight Anthem, Cage The Elephant, Fucked Up, Best Coast, Hot Snakes, Titus Andronicus, Gary Clark Jr., Lucero, Roky Erickson, The Black Angels, The Sword, Liturgy, and more to be announced in the coming weeks.

The Metallica Met Club fan club presale starts tomorrow - February 8th at 10am (Eastern) and runs through Friday, February 10th at 10pm (Eastern).  Met Club members get first dibs on buying festival tickets and with a couple of options to choose from.

- A Super Special Price at $125 including all fees for a 2-Day pass OR

- The MET CLUB ULTRA 2-DAY PASS, which includes Front of Stage Viewing Area Access, Exclusive Ultra Lounge Access & More for $225 including all fees!

Tickets will go on-sale to the public on Saturday, February 11th at 10 am (Eastern) for $150 for a 2-Day Pass including all fees.  Visit www.orionmusicandmore.com to buy tickets.

The tour takes its name from "Buried Alive," the fourth single from the Huntington Beach, CA, rock band's gold album Nightmare. Released worldwide in July 2010, Nightmare earned A7X its highest-ever debut on the Billboard album chart when it bowed at No. 1 and topped Billboard's Rock, Hard Rock, and Digital charts. Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival co-producer John Oakes reflects on this year’s tour: “We encountered some obstacles with the weather this year, but the UPROAR bands, crew and fans overcame these challenges together to make 2011 another amazing tour for the Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival. We’re already making plans for 2012! We were excited to join forces with Sullen Art Collective for the first annual Miss UPROAR competition and look forward to crowning a winner later this month. This year also marked the first Best Buy Music Gear Battle Of The Bands Powered by Ernie Ball and brought out some amazing talent. This year’s winner—Mindset Evolution—will join us on the entire 2012 tour as part of their prize package.”

Critical praise from the media for the Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival was widespread, as evidenced below:

--Tim Finn, Kansas City Star, September 22, 2011

“The impressive size of Saturday’s audience — about 13,000 fans spanning several generations — reflected the sound’s perennial popularity…The festival ran like clockwork…”

--Bill Brownlee, Kansas City Star, September 24, 2011

“…the summer concert series heated up and saved its best for last when the second annual Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival hit Ashley Furniture HomeStore Pavilion Saturday, Oct. 8…”

--Jim Louvau, Arizona Republic, October 9, 2011

 “…a virtual music marathon…”

--Joe Belcastro, Tampa Tribune, September 2, 2011

“The Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival stormed its way into town Saturday, bringing with it 10 bands and eight hours of hard-hitting rock and heavy metal…it was a well-oiled machine…the large crowd got a lot of bang for its buck…”

--Brad Patton, Wilkes-Barre Times Leader, August 28, 2011

“…a day of ear-shattering bliss…thousands of hard rock fans descended on Toyota Pavilion at Montage Mountain for the second Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival, featuring a number of the genre's luminaries…”

                                    --Josh McAuliffe, Scranton Times-Tribune, August 29, 2011

Not even a hurricane could stop dedicated heavy metal fans from ascending Montage Mountain on Saturday, Aug. 27 for the Rockstar Energy Uproar Festival, which offered over nine hours of hard rock…”

--Rich Howells, Times Leader/Go Lackawanna, September 4, 2011

“Hard rock, slamming drums and screaming vocals were the rule rather than the exception this past weekend as the Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival rolled into town packed with a full bill of great bands and more tattoos than you could count…This festival offered the best of the genre and the THOUSANDS of fans packed Verizon Wireless Amphitheater and were ready to rock.”

                                    --J. Boyd, InsideSTL.com, September 29, 2011

“Virginia has been shaken this month, we had a 5.8 magnitude earthquake on August 23rd, Hurricane Irene on August 27th, but we were thoroughly rocked and brought to our knees on August 31st as the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Tour came to Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia. Nine hours (yes, nine) of total Rock. Two stages, 10 total bands. It was an unbelievable afternoon and night of music and entertainment, the likes of which I had never experienced…”

                                    --Melissa Gibson, AllAccessMagazine.com, September 22, 2011

“Hurricane Irene may have roared in to New England like a lion but it was the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival that left chaos in its wake. The one day mega-rock extravaganza…an all-you-could-eat-buffet of riffs, licks, and devil horns. Doubling your rock ‘n’ roll pleasure with two stages, the music kicked off early in the day with side stage action on the Best Buy Music Gear Stage…With bands that are worthy main stage acts in their own right, the second stage action lived up to the hype and provided some of the best music of the day giving fans more than a good reason to get there early.”
