'Bow Down Before The Blood Court'!

Dutch death metal tribunal GRAND SUPREME BLOOD COURT have released their debut album, Bow Down Before The Blood Court, in North America! To hear the album in its entirety, please head over to Decibel Magazine.com for the exclusive album stream [a special introduction and track by track breakdown by Bob Bagchus (drums) is also available alongside the stream].

GSBC's main songwriters are former ASPHYX-axeman Eric Daniels and current ASPHYX-bassist Alwin Zuur (who plays guitar in GSBC). Vocal duties are being handled by one of the fiercest throats in human history: Martin van Drunen. Rounded off by Bob Bagchus (ASPHYX) on drums and bassist Theo van Eekelen (HAIL OF BULLETS), you can expect to-the-bone death metal inspired by old SLAUGHTER, FUNERAL BITCH or NECROVORE. The album was mixed by none other than Dan Swanö (EDGE OF SANITY, BLOODBATH).

"These nice little Dutch boys have successfully melded together brutal, face removing rock beats, chainsaw bass, flame thrower guitars and punk-like growls to make 'Bow Down Before the Blood Court' a carnival of carnage that is not to be missed!!!" -- Matt Olivo (REPULSION)

"Welcome to the Blood Court where skulls are crushed, skin is stripped, guts are pummeled and eardrums are shattered! Of course when you see who is responsible for this feast of darkness and metal violence, none of the above should be a surprise. These warriors of death and doom are pros at making heads bang and brains erupt, so don't hesitate to set your stereo on 'kill' and allow yourself to be swept away into a sea of audio carnage. I have been saying that we are living in a new golden age of metal and this album only confirms that statement. Fuck yeah!" -- Chris Reifert (AUTOPSY)

"'BDBTBC' is a slower, crawling, evil little bastard of old school death metal: great riff structures, voracious vocals, simple-yet-memorable arrangements, no reliance on gimmicks or being overly technical." -- BLISTERING.com

"...if you want to hear that special tree-cutting blend of doom-ridden ghastliness performed with the kind of spirit and soul that gave birth to [death metal] in the first place, then bow down before the Blood Court ..." -- NO CLEAN SINGING.com

"Death metal at its finest. GRAND SUPREME BLOOD COURT know how to channel the essence of the genre and this album is proof of it." -- THE METAL CIRCUS (Spain)

To purchase Bow Down Before The Blood Court, please head over to iTunes for a digital copy or to CM Distro for the album, plus a special CD/t-shirt bundle.

The Blood Court:

Grand Magistrate Bagchus -- firing squad commander and coffin drummings

Grand Judge Daniels -- axe wielding beheader guitar

Grand Prosecutor van Drunen - verdicts, sentences and tormented howls

Grand Supreme Blood Court Signs With Century Media Records

Century Media Records is proud to announce the signing of Dutch death metal doom mongers GRAND SUPREME BLOOD COURT!

GRAND SUPREME BLOOD COURT was founded in 2011 by former ASPHYX guitar player Eric Daniels, who left behind the active death metal scene years ago after the release of ASPHYX's studio album, On The Wings Of Inferno. But as one should never deny his roots, Daniels is now back to spread the plague of doom once more: "After some resting years, the wish to play real doom/death was boiling again. It feels great to compose again, my guitars are more close to me than they were ever before. GRAND SUPREME BLOOD COURT gives me the motivation and true belief to spit out the true and real doom/death. I have five words to say about the upcoming album: Heavy...Brutal...Doom...Crushing...Real. My respect and gratitude towards the fans who kept supporting me, even when I wasn't there. YOU RULE!!!"

Still having maintained very close contact to his old band-mates in ASPHYX, Eric has teamed up with Martin van Drunen and Bob Bagchus for GRAND SUPREME BLOOD COURT as well. Still, GRAND SUPREME BLOOD COURT differs from the current ASPHYX sound. Philipp Schulte, A&R at Century Media Germany, comments: "We are very happy to have Eric Daniels back on the label with his new band. Eric and Century Media have a long and good history together. When we received the first instrumental samples of GRAND SUPREME BLOOD COURT, we instantly knew we have to release the band's material: this is crushing, twisted and sick death metal, composed by one of the few real riff masters of the scene. I am aware of the fact that GRAND SUPREME BLOOD COURT will instantly be compared to ASPHYX due to the line-up similarities and Eric's involvement in ASPHYX for many years. Still, the two bands have a different approach on death metal and people will easily recognize those differences in the sound."

Eric explains the musical direction of GRAND SUPREME BLOOD COURT: "GSBC is a five-piece band, with two guitar-players, in order to give more heaviness and possibilities to the songs. That differs from ASPHYX, as well as the fact that we down-tuned to B and the challenge between heaviness and brutality. The structure of the songs is more basic, riffs will tell the story, we don't hesitate to play riffs longer if it feels right. GSBC is more brutal, saw-like playing than ASPHYX, which will be noticeable in the sound. Shortly said:  GSBC is a band standing at its own, no wink to ASPHYX, no connection."

The recording of the band's currently untitled debut album will be finished by the end of March and is planned to be released in the second half of 2012, so be sure to get doomed before doomsday!

GRAND SUPREME BLOOD COURT line-up:
Eric Daniels - guitars
Bob Bagchus - drums
Theo van Eekelen - bass
Alwin Zuur - guitars
Martin van Drunen - vocals

Asphyx Premieres “Deathhammer” Music Video On Brooklyn Vegan

Dutch doom-death metal pioneers ASPHYX will be releasing their new album, Deathhammer , via long-time partners Century Media Records on February 27th in Europe and February 28th in North America. The initial reaction to the already launched material has been nothing but amazing, and the anticipation is at its highest, so we can now proudly premiere the band's new video clip for the album's title track, "Deathhammer", today on Brooklyn Vegan. Check out the video here:

http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2012/02/new_asphyx_vide.html

The "Deathhammer" video clip was shot earlier this month by Maurice Swinkels of Younique Film, who had previously worked with the band on the bonus DVD for the Death...The Brutal Way album release as well as for bands like EXODUS, MASTERPLAN, KATAKLYSM, and many more.

The band has checked in to comment about the video clip:

"Yet another official ASPHYX video, but this time slightly differently. A furious, 'fast' clip with aggressive filming, which fits the song perfectly. This one was shot by Maurice of Legion Of The Damned and we knew that he could capture the spirit and intensity of the song 100%.And he did. The clip shows ASPHYX in a true way....a band being themselves and doing their own thing. Enjoy!" -- ASPHYX

Recorded at The Mörser Studio as well as at Harrow Studio with engineer Harry Wijering, Deathhammer was mixed and mastered in Sweden by Dan Swanö, who previously worked with the band on their Death...The Brutal Way studio album release from 2009 as well as on the Live Death Doom live DVD release from 2010. Long-time design partner of the band, Axel Hermann (http://www.axel-illustrator.de), has once more provided the powerful artwork.
