Dying Fetus First Week Chart Numbers For Reign Supreme Revealed

DYING FETUS' long awaited new album Reign Supreme was released last week via Relapse Records. Reign Supreme landed spots on four of Billboard's charts. The album came in at #181 on the Top 200 Chart, #4 on the Heatseekers Chart, #14 on the Hard Music Chart and #31 on the Independent Chart.

Metal Sucks is hosting an exclusive full album stream of Reign Supreme. Check out the entire record HERE and be sure to order your copy HERE and on iTunes.

Reign Supreme features nine tracks and is a "return to roots" with production focused slightly more on slam than in the band's last few works.  Thematically, the album is set to be a good old-fashioned piece of social and political commentary in the style of DYING FETUS as we have come to know.

DYING FETUS are currently on tour supporting Reign Supreme. Tonight is the last night of the "18 Nights of Blood Tour" with label mates REVOCATION and Six Feet Under. Immediately following those tour dates the band will head to back to Europe for a headlining run as well as additional festival dates including the "With Full Force" festival in Roitzschjora, Germany, "Sevilla Rock Festival" in Sevilla, Spain and the "Getaway Rock Fest" in Gävle, Sweden.

In more DYING FETUS tour news the band will be heading to Europe this September for "The Womb to Waste" headlining tour. The jaunt kicks off September 14th in Lindau, Germany and runs through October 14th in Aarschot, Belgium. Support on the tour will come from label mates REVOCATION, Job For a Cowboy and Cerebral Bore. A complete list of dates can be found below

The band recently completed work on a video for the song "From Womb to Waste". The video features 12 camera angles from a recent live show at Maryland Deathfest held at Sonar in Baltimore, MD. The video was filmed and directed by Scott Hansen (Animals as Leaders, A Day to Remember). The video is available for viewing HERE.

Alternative Press Magazine is hosting an exclusive giveaway of a DYING FETUS ESP LTD guitar. The grand prize also includes a deluxe copy of Reign Supreme and a DYING FETUS t-shirt. Two additional winners will be chosen to receive a copy of Reign Supreme. To enter the contest, visit the giveaway page HERE.

I've been having a great time out on the road with the new band members. Both Jeff and Ola are kicking some serious ass on stage and the new songs are going over killer! Life is good!! Having Dying Fetus and Revocation on the road with us has been amazing. Total class acts and both amazing bands to share the stage with. Heading toward the West Coast to devour your souls. 18 Nights Of Blood continues…”

Six Feet Under: 18 Nights Of Blood Tour To Commence This Friday

With nationwide speculation that the zombie apocalypse is officially upon us, it would only seem appropropriate for SIX FEET UNDER’s 18 Nights Of Blood Tour to commence this Friday! The near three-week run of live rituals will begin in Atlanta, Georgia and cannibalize its way across the U.S. coming to a close on the band’s home turf of Tampa, Florida. Blood shall be spilled, faces eaten and brains devoured! No one is safe. SIX FEET UNDER will be joined by newly recruited rhythm guitarist Ola Englund who takes the place of Rob Arnold. Support will be provided by Dying Fetus and Revocation.

The band will be touring in support of Undead, their latest installment of misanthropic brutality, which toppled Billboard charts upon its first week of release. (Undead entered the Heatseekers Chart at #, #30 on the Top Independent Album Chart, #22 on the Top Hard Music Albums Chart, #14 on the Top Current Albums Chart and #183 on the Top 200 Chart!). Critically lauded by fans and media alike, Decibel Magazine dubbed the record “the best thing SFU have recorded since Maximum Violence,” while Terrorizer commended the offering noting,“…this is truly an unearthly noise and glorious in its heaving absurdity.”Outburn agreed calling Undead, “an album on which this new level of musicianship adds value without tarnishing SIX FEET UNDER’s legacy of brutality.” Added MetalSucks thoughtfully: “What makes Undead work is a balance between the tooth grinding intensity of its blasts and the bone-strewn muck of its down-tempo bits.”

Undead was unleashed to North American ears via Metal Blade on May 22 and offers an updated lineup of Barnes alongside guitarist Rob Arnold (ex- Chimaira), longtime guitarist Steve Swanson (ex-Massacre), bassist Jeff Hughell (ex-Brain Drill, ex-Vile), and drummer Kevin Talley (Dying Fetus, Misery Index, Chimaira).

Six Feet Under Welcome New Guitarist

Death metal ministers SIX FEET UNDER today announce the addition of rhythm guitarist Ola Englund to their legendary ranks. England, who will make his first official appearance with the band on the 18 Nights Of Blood Tour set to commence next month, takes the place of Rob Arnold.

Comments founding vocalist Chris Barnes of the new recruit:  “Ola is an amazing guitarist and was chosen for his superlative technique and style of playing. We believe he will be the perfect complement to Steve Swanson, and the devastating rhythm section that is Talley/Hughell. Steve, Kevin, Jeff and myself are so looking forward to Ola's entrance into the band upon the release of Undead and the commencement of our first tour next month with Dying Fetus and Revocation. We can’t wait for you to witness the new killing machine that is SIX FEET UNDER! Ola takes over duties for our good friend and death metal warrior Rob Arnold who will be retiring from touring but will remain a central writing partner and fellow collaborator on future SFU releases. We are all sad to not have Rob on the road with us, but are confidant and 110% psyched that Ola is now within the ranks of the Undead and will be ready to lay waste to every stop along the way! Hails!”

Adds Englund: "When I got the call from Chris, it felt unreal; first thing that popped up in my head was, ‘why the hell did he want me -- the total gear nerd from Sweden -- to join his awesome band? To be able to share the stage with one of the biggest icons in death metal and the other killer musicians in SFU is a complete honor and a dream come true for me. I couldn't be happier about the situation! Also the new album blew my mind the first time I heard it, it's intense as hell, but still has the riffs and the grooves that SIX FEET UNDER swears by. Fans are going to love it! I’m looking forward to kick some serious ass together with Chris, Kevin, Steve and Jeff! See you on tour!"

Check out video footage documenting Englund’s guitar skills at THIS LOCATION.

Undead was officially released in North America today via Metal Blade Records. Called “the best thing SFU have recorded since Maximum Violence,” in a recent 8/10 review by Decibel Magazine, the record was produced by Mark Lewis (Deicide, Devildriver), mixed by Jason Suecof (Whitechapel, Job For A Cowboy) and features the recording line up of Barnes alongside guitarist Rob Arnold (ex- Chimaira), longtime guitarist Steve Swanson (ex-Massacre), bassist Jeff Hughell (ex-Brain Drill, ex-Vile), and drummer Kevin Talley (Dying Fetus, Misery Index, Chimaira).

To celebrate its release SIX FEET UNDER will slaughter souls on a near three-week run of live ceremonies this June. The 18 Nights Of Blood Tour will begin in Atlanta, Georgia on June 8. Support will be provided by Dying Fetus and Revocation.
