Comments Barnes: "Hello, all you sick fucks! Summer tours in the U.S. are always a blast, and this one is set up for sheer devastation with opening bands Decrepit Birth, Cannabis Corpse and Dealey Plaza! I would just like to take this time to say and send a personal message to those in Denver as well as Seattle: You may want to stock up and/or possibly grow twice as much cannabis as you have been, because once SFU and Cannabis Corpse roll into those towns, the sheer magnitude of smoking may - 1. Drain the cannabis supply of those two said cities or 2. Possibly cause low cloud formations. Fog lights should be used on all vehicles to and from the concert.

"On a side note, I'm super excited to have the opening band Dealey Plaza join us. They are a really killer new band and put a on a ferocious live show. Drumming for Dealey Plaza is my nephew, Ryley Dipaola. He beats the shit out of the drums, and it makes me really proud to have my nephew on the road with me! I'm more proud than I can say about that, so I hope everyone will come out to the shows and support all these great musicians and great bands that are on tour with us this summer for Hell In July! And we will see everyone else real soon! Lots more tour dates to be announced in the coming months, so stay sick and twisted!"

Mixed and mastered by Zeuss at Planet Z, SIX FEET UNDER's latest album, Unborn, was released on March 19th via Metal Blade Records, and features tracks written in collaboration with Ben Savage (Whitechapel) and Jari Laine (Torture Killer).

Joining guitarist Bill Steer and bassist/vocalist Jeff Walker in the band's current incarnation are new drummer Dan Wilding (ABORTED, TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED) and guitarist Ben Ash (PIG IRON, DESOLATION, LIQUEFIED SKELETON). Expect some guest vocals from original sticksman Ken Owen as well, when Surgical Steel is released this Fall world-wide.

CARCASS has released the following statement regarding their new found partners in medical deviancy: "We are pleased to announce that we have found the perfect home for Surgical Steel, the first CARCASS album for, what, eighteen years?! We've inked a deal with Nuclear Blast for our new baby.

We have to thank Markus Staiger for his enthusiasm and belief in what he heard, but mostly his ability to take advantage of Jeff with a bad hangover when he visited the office in Stuttgart to let him be the first to hear the rough mixes. Nuclear Blast has managed to secure this release despite interest from all the main players in what remains of the metal ‘music industry’.

We're also looking forward to working with our pals in the US Office, who have done favors for us behind the scenes over the last few years. On a personal note, Jeff looks forward to his and label manager Gerardo Martinez' friendship to come crashing down in flames and tears in a few months.

As long as we don't mention ‘The War’ we think we're going to do just fine with our new Teutonic home!"

Commented Nuclear Blast owner and founder Markus Staiger: “One of my all-time favorite UK Metal Bands signed recently to Nuclear Blast - it feels like a dream come true. When Jeff Walker let me listen to the new record I knew immediately that CARCASS made one of their best albums ever! It is a perfect mixture of Heartwork and Necroticism with a massive production to boot. The album is without a doubt just as perfect and lethal as surgical steel itself, and exactly what both old and new fans have waited for eagerly all of these years!

I am very proud to say, CARCASS - welcome to the Nuclear family. It is an honor to work with this legendary metal band.”

Adds North American label manager Gerardo Martinez: “First of all, apologies to the many that were wondering where that signing statement was the other day. Well, we didn’t anticipate the prenuptial agreement to take this long but here we are, and about to release to the world what many people said would never happen: a new CARCASS record!

All joking aside, this is a dream come true. All I can say is that even the biggest critic, Señor Walker himself included, will find this to be one of the best CARCASS albums. It already sounds like a classic and I can’t wait for people to hear it. ‘Time to die, die in pain’!!!”

CARCASS has released several classic albums over the years, including Decibel Magazine “Hall of Fame” inductees Heartwork and Necroticism – Descanting the Insalubrious, and their influence has changed the face of extreme metal with every consecutive release. Whether it was inventing gore-grind (i.e. Reek of Putrefaction, Symphonies of Sickness) or creating the template for melodic death metal (i.e. Heartwork), CARCASS has always made records by which bars were set and rules were broken. Upon the band’s dismantling in 1996, fans mourned the loss of the seminal act and longed that the group would return again one day. In 2007, the metal world got its wish as CARCASS reformed to play several sold-out reunion shows around the globe. Once again re-motivated to administer a shot of cynicism and infectious riffs into the arm of a sickly metal scene, founding members Bill Steer and Jeff Walker began writing what would become the latest output of their highly influential career, Surgical Steel. Only the choicest of cuts were made, and blood sweat and tears were shed to bring us a record worthy of the CARCASS legacy. In short, Surgical Steel is just what the doctor ordered.

Decades after their inception, Gothenburg's DARK TRANQUILLITY remains at the forefront of the scene that they helped to define as one of the longest-standing melodic death metal bands. Their 10th studio album, Construct, continues in the tradition of their past records by not straying from the band's roots, while also putting a fresh spin on their trademark sound. After over 20 years together, DARK TRANQUILLITY yet again proves that they are more vital than ever.

Following last week’s Vans Warped Tour Twitter hosting stint and the release of ‘Golden Parachutes’, the band is now exclusively releasing their album art, track listing, and video album teaser with Alternative Press Magazine!
"Just to give everyone a bit of insight on the concept behind the record — Zero, at its core, is a story of good and evil," explains HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS drummer Eron Bucciarelli. "The setting is a dystopian future where a totalitarian corporation has risen to power in the wake of a disaster, "The Fires". Zero is an account of the events from the perspective of the main character in the story, "Baker". The album's track listing is based upon those events."

Eron continues, "The story takes place in 2017 — or so THEY would like you to believe. In reality, the year is 2015. The people know little, they're angry, and they know something isn't right; that they've been lied to! Life used to be so nice, they used to be kids - driving around with friends, listening to music - no cares in the world. And as bad as things would sometimes get back then, they are nothing in comparison to what the people are experiencing now. This is only the tip of the iceberg. To delve deeper into the story, you'll have to delve deeper into Zero."

The album art for Zero was designed by Jeff Chenault at Eleven07 (www.eleven07.com), who also spearheaded the art direction along with HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS vocalist/guitarist JT Woodruff.

Zero, a concept album which will serve as the band’s 5th full-length album, is produced by Brian Virtue (30 Seconds To Mars, Chevelle, Audioslave) and promises to be the band’s most ambitious record yet! This album is set to shatter all previous records and add to the already 1.7 million albums that the band has sold in the U.S. alone. Zero poses a theme that, no matter how hard life gets or how many seemingly insurmountable odds you may encounter, everyone can get a fresh start. This theme is set against a dystopian, war-ravaged background.

HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS will perform as stage headliners at this year’s Vans Warped Tour. See below for all currently confirmed 2013 Vans Warped Tour dates, and stay tuned for updates.

Foregoing the traditional record label release model, Misery Signals launched an Indiegogo campaign in March to work directly with fans to crowd-fund the new album by offering unique funding packages that included handwritten lyrics, vinyl box set, music lessons, listening parties and more. By May, the band had not only reached their funding goal, but had surpassed it by double the amount. The support was a definite sign that fans were eagerly awaiting new music from the seminal band.

"We were floored by the excitement from the people supporting the album,” guitarist Ryan Morgan says. “It's a good feeling to have an audience matching the enthusiasm we are putting into it's creation - and they haven't even heard it yet! It'll all come together when they get to hear how insane this album is."

Misery Signals got their start in 2002 and quickly gained notoriety after signing with Ferret Music to release 2004’s critically acclaimed record Of Malice and the Magnum Heart; an album which breathed fresh life into the their genre with the band’s signature style of aggressive riffs, melodic bridges and atmospheric elements and went on to be one of the most influential metalcore album’s of the last decade. Over the next several years the band released two more albums, Mirrors (2006) and Controller (2008), which were both equally praised by the metal community and further cemented their place among metal’s elite bands.

After Ferret Music was absorbed by a Warner Music Group in 2010, Misery Signals were left to fend for themselves and took a hiatus to pursue individual side projects with singer Karl Schubach focusing on metal outfit Solace, guitarist Ryan Morgan founding the hardcore/punk band Burning Empires and drummer Branden Morgan starting The Company We Keep with Brian Southall (The Receiving End Of Sirens) and Justin Pierre (Motion City Soundtrack).

Now, the band that redefined a genre will return reinvigorated with a full time focus on the business at hand, and a determination to push the boundaries of hardcore-metal even further than before.

Misery Signals will kick off their record release tour in July with dates running through mid August.
