The Safety Fire Reveals The Vest Choir In Final Studio Diary

London progressive metallers THE SAFETY FIRE have been hard at work on their forthcoming second album and have been documenting the process through their fantastic studio diaries. The fourth and final studio diary has now been released, and it shows the band enlisting the help of what has been dubbed the "Vest Choir". Check out the video here:

Guitarist and producer Derya "Dez" Nagle comments about this uniquely dressed choir: "Nothing says community like a bunch of dudes hanging out in vests. If said dudes all decide to sing and shout in unison all the better. I would argue that church choirs would be much more popular if they encouraged members to wear vests. Vests are the future."

Full Of Hell: Month-Long U.S. Tour Assault Begins Tomorrow

Pennsylvania/Maryland-based noise/hardcore revolutionaries FULL OF HELL will embark on their most intense run of their heavyweight 2013 tour itinerary this week, as the act’s month-long American assault in support of their second LP Rudiments Of Mutilation is set to set Long Island ablaze tomorrow evening.

Following the tour’s start, subsequent shows as part of this year’s Maryland Deathfest, Chaos In Tejas and more are to follow, including a string of shows alongside the mighty Integrity followed by more than two weeks of shows alongside Seven Sisters of Sleep, possibly the only time SSOS will ever fully tour. Just one month after the wicked U.S. trek, FULL OF HELL will invade Europe for a three-week bombardment of the continent alongside Circle Takes the Square and Code Orange Kids.

Now just three weeks from its official release into the populous, Rudiments Of Mutilation is undoubtedly a contender for most scathing album of the year, as FULL OF HELL’s bestial power and corrosive elements continue to become more apparent. Regarding his thoughts on the new album, vocalist and guitarist Morten Veland comments: “The entire band and all the people we are working with are absolutely ecstatic about it! This album takes SIRENIA to the next level and brings many new sides of us to the table. There’s typical tried and tested SIRENIA stuff but also approaches that you’ve never heard from us before. I think I’ve never felt so good about an album throughout my entire career. I mean, I love them all, but this one is something special. It’s the result of two and a half years of blood, sweat and tears. I’ve literally put my heart and soul into this record, so I am very curious to see what our fans as well as the press will think about it!”

Perils Of The Deep Blue was produced by the mastermind himself, while the mixing and mastering was done by Endre Kirkesola in Dub Studios, Oslo. “The writing process has been going on for about two years”, states Veland. “I always have ideas for new stuff, so I started writing even before we had released our previous album The Enigma Of Life. Most of it has been recorded in my own studio. I love to work there as I always feel inspired - plus we can take our time with whatever we do, for there is no time pressure. Just like for all of our previous albums, we also dropped by Sound Suite Studios in France – a great place that feels like home, too. This time we recorded the Marseille choir there that one can always hear on our records, as well as some of my acoustic guitar parts.”

The album artwork was originally painted by Anne Stokes – though it wasn’t intentionally created to be used as such, as Morten explains: “I came across the artwork on the Internet and immediately fell in love with it for obvious reasons – it’s no secret that I’ve always been fascinated by Greek mythology and sirens. So we got in touch with Anne and luckily she granted us the permits to use it for the record. I actually drew the inspiration for the album title Perils Of The Deep Blue from the artwork. In my opinion, it’s the perfect SIRENIA cover – there was no way we could have let that opportunity slip away!”

Black Star Riders: Official Lyric Video For "Kingdom Of The Lost"

A lyric video for the BLACK STAR RIDERS track “Kingdom Of The Lost” is now available for viewing on YouTube and features artwork by Terry Bradley, the renowned artist & illustrator from Belfast, Ireland.

“Kingdom Of The Lost” comes from BSR’s debut album, All Hell Breaks Loose, due out in North America next week on May 28^th.

BSR frontman & lyricist Ricky Warwick shares how the collaboration for the illustrated visuals used in the lyric video came about:

“[Terry] was so blown away by ‘Kingdom Of The Lost’ when I played it for him [that] he gave us his art to use for free - something he has never done before. His paintings go for anywhere from 50 to 100,000 pounds and Madonna and Bono are some of his famous clients.”

Fans will be happy to know that the showcased black & white photos also have personal, historical ties to Warwick:
“The picture of the two gentlemen in the very dapper 1930s suits at the start of the chorus are my grandfather and great-grandfather. Also, the shop in the chorus ‘McNeily's,’ was my great-grandmother's bakery in Belfast. The picture of the young man in the soldier's uniform is also my great-grandfather - who at 14 years of age ran away from Belfast to enlist in the British army to fight in the First World War (he lied about his age; you had to be 16 to fight). He got as far as Southampton, where he got seriously ill with pleurisy and was hospitalized. When they found out he was only 14, [they] sent him back home to Belfast. He enlisted again in 1918 when he was 17 but by then, the war was over! This was a big inspiration for the lyrics for me.”

The Cringe Releases "Finally Gonna Be On Your Own"

NYC based rock band, THE CRINGE, released their new video for "Finally Gonna Be On Your Own," on VEVO which comes off of the band's recently released record, Hiding In Plain Sight.

THE CRINGE hit the studio to record the self-produced album with renowned engineer Steve Hardy (Vertical Horizon) and recruited Hardy and Jon Kaplan (Augustana, Parachute) to mix the band's latest full-length and fourth overall. Fronted by singer/guitarist John Cusimano, the band emits a powerful rock n' roll energy that draws parallels to contemporaries like Foo Fighters, Velvet Revolver, and Queens Of The Stone Age. White Wizzard Release New Track 'Strike The Iron'

The new track, titled "Strike the Iron", is the second track on THE DEVILS CUT and follows the release of another new song, "Kings of the Highway", a few weeks ago.

"Strike the Iron is my favorite White Wizzard song I have ever written, along with The Sun Also Rises, which closes the new record. I am very proud of the arrangement. I had the verse melody in my head and chorus line before I even picked up the guitar and started writing it. It has stunning leads by Jake and Will, and Joseph interpreted the vocal melody fantastically and gave so much character to it. The Winery Dogs Sign With Loud & Proud Records

Red Fang Announce Third Studio Album Out This Fall

RED FANG return this fall with their as-yet-untitled third studio album on Relapse Records. The Portland-based group is currently in the studio finishing the disc with the producer Chris Funk (Decemberists) and mixer Vance Powell (White Stripes, Raconteurs, Kings of Leon). This same team worked on RED FANG’s last album Murder the Mountains, tagged by NPR as “a sleeker style of riff-heavy metal” (April 2011) and Alternative Press magazine as “a near masterpiece of tangled tar pit riffs and whisky-and-bong-hit vocals” (April 2011).

On Friday, May 24^th, RED FANG will head to the picturesque Gorge Amphitheater outside Seattle for their first festival appearance this year at Sasquatch! The band will then hit the road for European trek through mid July with festival stops at Sonisphere, Download, Hellfest, Reload, Full Force, Open Air and Eistenaflug among others. Expect the group to announce a full U.S. run for late summer.

Formed in 2005, RED FANG--Bryan Giles (Guitar/Vocals), Aaron Beam (Bass/Vocals), David Sullivan (Guitar), John Sherman (Drums)--has two albums under their belt: their 2009 self-titled debut on Sargent House and 2011’s Murder the Mountains on Relapse Records. RED FANG quickly became known for their series of hilarious videos directed by Whitey McConnaughy (Band Of Horses, Flogging Molly, Turbonegro). Each clip was picked up by Reddit and went viral, garnering over 1 million+ views.

The band spent the past few years touring the world and wining over audiences at clubs and festivals like All Tomorrow’s Parties, Rock on the Range, Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival and Metallica’s Orion Music & More Fest. After more high-profile tours with Mastodon, Dillinger Escape Plan, Helmet, Saint Vitus and more, the band expanded their global footprint with a European trek and festival appearances across the continent. 2013 promises to be the biggest year yet for the Portland, OR-based group who show no signs of slowing down. Their intense live performances--along with their unique brand of humor, catchy songwriting and independent attitude--are sure to turn a few heads in 2013 and beyond.

After supporting Testament in March and doing their own, highly successful UK headlining tour BLEED FROM WITHIN have just been confirmed as direct support for the upcoming Megadeth tour in the UK in June.
