German Thrash Legends Exumer Sign To Metal Blade Records!

The deal is done! Legendary German Thrashers EXUMER have signed a worldwide recording deal with Metal Blade Records!

EXUMER just completed recording their first new album in 24 years with renowned producer Waldemar Sorychta (Grip Inc., Therion, Sodom, Moonspell, etc.) at the helm. The 10-track strong, hard-hitting CD Fire & Damnation combines a punishing production with aggressive song writing. EXUMER manages to capture the intensity and feel of the 1980s thrash metal gems and yet sound up to date on their latest output.

Fire & Damnation will catapult EXUMER back in the forefront of the international music markets and the following live assaults in 2012; will only further cement the band's cult status among the ranks of classic thrash metal acts in the world!

Formed in 1985, by singer/bassist Mem V. Stein and guitarist Ray Mensh, EXUMER went on to release two albums in 1986 (Possessed by Fire), and 1987 (Rising from the Sea), that are regarded as some of the most cult thrash metal releases ever to come out of Germany. EXUMER was also one of the first thrash metal acts to capture exotic, foreign markets like Poland and Brazil, where their albums were domestically released in the 1980s. The subsequent tours that followed those releases secured the band live shows in front of thousands of fans and an unusually large following outside of Germany. Plagued by line-up changes and internal turmoil the band broke up in 1990, and did not perform live, with the exception in 2001 at the prestigious Wacken Open Air Festival, until 2009.

Mem and Ray decided to re-activate EXUMER in 2008, and the band embarked on their first tour since 1988, where they played 5 shows in April/May of 2009. The "5 Nights of Fire Tour", took the band through Europe (Germany, Holland, Greece), and the USA, where they headlined the "Thrasho de Mayo Festival", in front of 1300 fans in Los Angeles.

EXUMER returned to Europe in spring and the fall of 2010, where the band appeared at Norway's "Inferno Festival", among other stops in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Poland and Bulgaria during their "European Ignition Tour Part I & II".

Watch out for Fire & Damnation to be released in the spring of 2012, and the subsequent live assaults to follow!

I Am War Joins Razor & Tie Label & Publishing Rosters

Razor & Tie announces the addition of newly formed, Orange County, CA based act, I Am War to its label and publishing rosters.   I Am War joins Razor & Tie for an exclusive, multi-album, North American deal.  The band is led by Atreyu front man Alex Varkatzas (on vocals) and Brandan Schieppati (on guitar and vocals).  I Am War is currently writing and demo’ing new material which will encompass their brutal debut album set for release in spring of 2012.

Earache Records Presents HMV's Next Big Thing 2012

Earache Records is pleased to announce its very own evening of metal mayhem at HMV's third annual Next Big Thing music festival tour in 2012.

HMV's Next Big Thing showcases and celebrates the very best in new and emerging talent, drawn from all genres across the music spectrum, who are tipped to make it big in the coming year.  This year's event saw 140 breakthrough artists performing live, including fast-rising blues-rockers RIVAL SONS, who returned to the UK later in the year for a completely sold out headlining tour.

The third HMV Next Big Thing festival will run over 11 days between 2nd and 12th February, 2012, at nine venues across the UK, including for the first time ever, Manchester's HMV Ritz, where Earache Records will be presenting a night of live music from some of the best new and breakthrough metal bands around.

Ram Release 'Flame Of The Tyrants' Video Via Rock Hard Germany

Swedish Heavy Metal tyrants RAM make a return with their third album Death, to be released January, 27th/30th, 2012 via Metal Blade Records in Europe!

Comments RAM: "Filming the video for Flame of the tyrants was a very cool and almost surreal experience, we filmed it in an abandoned sandquarell outside of Gothenburg. We wanted that Mad Max II feeling to it and I think we accomplished that. We had a great time on set and on behalf of RAM I would like to thank the Mad Ram gangers and everybody involved for making our vision come to life in such a brilliant manner!"

RAM was created back in '99 and released their first E.P Sudden Impact in 2003. After playing numerous festivals and a support tour for Sebastian Bach they released their first long player Forced Entry in late 2005 which brought the entire old school Heavy Metal community to its knees. RAM hit the road with Dark Tranquillity, did some Scandinavian shows with Gamma Ray and played gigs and festivals all over Europe.

In 2008 the band returned to the studio with producer Johan Reivén to record the album Lightbringer which was released in 2009 via AFM Records. This time they really took the time to explore the true heavy metal sound. The recording of the album took 10 months of nothing but strife for pure Heavy Metal perfection. RAM also headed out on a headline European tour to promote the album.

In 2011 RAM went back into the studio to record their third album Death. This time they worked with producers Per Stålberg and Olle Björk to create their best album to date by far. Live shows as support for Swedish extreme black metal band Watain followed as well as destroying some festivals.

The world trembles in fear before the release of the metal behemoth that is Death. RAM are back! Necks will be broken!
