Rock My Monkey Cage Match: Round 3

So here we are at the third week of the Rock My Monkey Cage Match. This week we will pit several bands against each other. If any bands want to volunteer to enter the ring, please stand up and let us know! Bands that volunteer will get picked for the battle before any band we at Rock My Monkey pick. So if your band is as bad ass as you think they are, prove it! Think your band is good? Wanna fight about it? If there are not enough bands that stand up to the challenge, I will fill in the empty slots with my own picks. The song MUST be a free listen with zero restrictions. This can mean a straight up MP3 download, a YouTube link, a ReverbNation stream, or any other method that does not require the person trying to vote to do anything but listen. No iTunes/Amazon links, No 'email for a song' crap, and no we will not host it for you. Upload it to YouTube, ReverbNation, or your own website. So take a listen and vote for the song you think is best. You may vote as often as you want.

Can either of these bands unseat our reigning champions Black Box Revelation?

Vote as often as you like. Invite as many friends as you want. This could get brutal!

Band 1: Black Box Revelation ....................................(Standing champion!)
Song: 'High On A Wire' http://youtu.be/uBA2vBFgCgc
Band 2: Elbow Coulee
Song: 'Dance Now' http://youtu.be/UrIdLfQ3al4
Band 3: Satellites Fall
Band 4: Haunting the Disconnect

The game is simple. Once it starts people can vote as often as they want. Then I grab the results and post them for all to see.

DO NOT take any of these polls serious in any way. They are just for fun. This poll will be live for one week.

THIS POLL IS CLOSED!

With much controversy and at times a very close battle, Haunting the Disconnect has beat out the mighty Black Box Revelation. With an amazing several weeks in the cage, we know this is not the last we have heard of this great duo. Could they be the next massive band you can't escape? I think so.

So how did Haunting the Disconnect win? By being extremely aggressive and finding any loop hole they can to get the most votes. Did this create controversy? Absolutely! It also created a situation where some major programing needs to be done before next week's contest. We need to close those loop holes Haunting the Disconnect found. But did they break the rules? No! Should they have been disqualified? For what? They didn't break any rules. They may have inspired new rules, tighter programing, and created a bit of drama, but they did not break a single rule. So what can we disqualify them for? Yes they ignored the spirit of the contest, but is that a bad thing? It made my job here suck a bit, but they did not break any rules. That is how to get ahead!

In truth I think all bands can learn something from Haunting the Disconnect. This business is war. Take what you can in every battle. I wish more bands would be so aggressive. But because of them there are a few new rules on the way for next week's Cage Match. We welcome the new winners and bow to the greatness that is Black Box Revelation. Can Haunting the Disconnect hold the title as long as they did? Only time will tell. You have big shoes to fill Haunting the Disconnect. Big shoes indeed.

The Results:

Black Box Revelation =71209
Elbow Coulee =2038
Satellites Fall =1264
Haunting the Disconnect =76615 <-New winner

A new match every Monday morning!
