Since their VICTORY RECORDS signing in 2006, Ocala, Florida’s A DAY TO REMEMBER have released three albums, sold out entire continental tours and topped Billboard charts. Due to the band’s constant touring schedule, there is little time for fan appreciation, something near and dear to their hearts. In celebration of the upcoming release of What Separates Me From You, A DAY TO REMEMBER is taking advantage of this rare off-day to give back to their loyal fans. This Monday, November 15th, a listening party will be held at The Hard Rock Hotel in Chicago. Providing an intimate setting in The Gibson Room, a limit of 250 fans will be able to attend this event, where they will be able to hear the album, participate in a “Q&A Session”, meet and take photos with the band.
Fans can RSVP for a chance to attend at the following link: www.facebook.com/victoryrecords
About The Band:
Vocalist Jeremy McKinnion, guitarists Neil Westfall and Kevin Skaff, bassist Joshua Woodard, and drummer Alex Shelnutt have displayed their unmatched musicianship on their previous efforts For Those Who Have Heart, Old Record, and perhaps their most popular, Homesick. The foundation of their band was built on a drive to reinvent a genre that was desperately seeking creativity. As stated by Rocksound, “ADTR are the poster boys of a genre on the cusp of a new revolution,” and their fourth studio album, What Separates Me From You, pummels through your picks for 2010’s Album Of the Year, wiping out the year’s competition. The 2009 release Homesick sold over 21,000 albums within the first week, landing it a #21 debut position on the Billboard Top 200 Chart and setting the tone for the rest of the year to come. Their spring headlining run sold out every date, making Toursick one of, if not the, spring tour of 2010. Immediately following, A DAY TO REMEMBER headed to Europe for a month of festivals, but naturally, were always thinking ahead. Amidst writing for the new album, things were still going strong for Homesick. Both “I’m Made of Wax, Larry, What Are You Made of?” and “Have Faith in Me” premiered on MTV2 and MTVu and earned themselves a coveted spot in the Elite 8 rotation. “Have Faith in Me” was the Most Requested Song on KROQ five weeks in a row while receiving 7000+ spins at Active Rock and Alternative radio stations across the U.S. The buzz surrounding ADTR was only heightened with the band’s appearances at X Games, Krock-athon and even on Loveline with Dr. Drew. Coinciding, “The Downfall of Us All” was released on Rockband and currently, “NJ Legion Iced Tea” is the second most popular track on Guitar Hero. This record is still very much A DAY TO REMEMBER, “…death metal grunts with pop-punk hooks…” as described by Rolling Stone; showcasing their characteristic mix of monstrous sing-a-long choruses and mosh-pit-inducing breakdowns, however this time around the lyrics are darker than ever. They are based off of true, deep-seeded emotion which Jeremy explains as his most honest and personal writings to date. Keeping true to A DAY TO REMEMBER fashion, 2011 is chock-full of continent-hopping plans, beginning with a US run including Victory label mates Close Your Eyes. What Separates Me From You expands the band’s widening spectrum and will be the triumphant next step in their already shining career. They have perfected a genre and their latest effort, What Separates Me From You, out November 16th, enhances their already impressive catalog, hitting harder and bouncing bigger than ever before.
