So here we have the next DVD in a very long list of DVD releases from this band of outer space outlaws. Now because this thing is a pretty much just a shitload of bootleg quality live footage, the quality is not the greatest. I think the budget for this thing was in the hundreds to be honest. So is it totally worthless? Far from it! If you have went to several Gwar shows in your time, this thing will be one blood & cum filled walk down memory lane. The real value in this DVD however is the so called ‘lost’ footage. Being able to watch footage of Gwar from the most humble (pathetic) beginnings is as awesome as it gets. Of course the seemingly endless flow of sped up footage from so many of their storyline driven live shows over the years is cool, too. The whole time this goes on, you get a very well done live recording of all the band’s greatest hits from their entire career. Then of course there are the extras. The first extra is a video for an instrumental version of the song “Sick Of You” that is basically the Gwar version of snuff film. This is followed by a video for the song “Poor Ol’ Tom”. Then we get a medley of the Hell-0 album that looks like it was recorded at the end of the band’s set at the 2005 appearance at The Sounds Of The Underground tour. The final extra is something I don’t want to describe to much or it will ruin it for everyone. I will say that it is footage of Gwar manager Sleazy P. Martini showcasing the great and mighty comeback of ex-Star Trek Captain Chris Pike. I will also add that this clip almost got me a trip to the hospital from a choking induced asthma attack. Never had a full on asthma attack before this clip, so thanks a whole fucking lot Sleazy! You prick! A warning to you all, don’t be eating or drinking anything of any sort when you watch this final extra clip. I say from personal experience that it is dangerously funny. Most of the time bootleg shit is lame as hell and I couldn’t give two shits about it. I do like how they have edited the main feature here. For once the extras are not fucking bullshit either. As a Gwar fan I have to say that despite the obviously non-existent budget, this thing is one of their better DVD releases. I think this thing is a must have for any Gwar fan. I don’t however think that this thing is going to win over any new fans or be a good introduction to the band. So although I found this thing to be highly entertaining myself, I will only recommend it to my fellow Gwar fans. This thing did Rock My Monkey! ![]()
