This DVD of a live performance of an 18 song set was recorded at the Bowery Ballroom in September 2005. The DVD itself is pretty much as simple as possible. The main screen has either “Play All” or “Set List” and if you select Set List you can just go to whichever song you would like to watch.

The band themselves seem to be pretty on it for this performance. The singer has a pretty fun stage presence. He likes to crouch down a lot, and one unfortunate drawback is that some camera angles keep catching the guy's butt crack sticking out of his pants. Aside from the butt crack, he’s got a great voice, and looks like he’s having a great time. He also interacts with the crowd a lot in between most all of the songs.

One thing I noticed is that when the camera is at a straight on angle, the bass player seems to be hiding behind one of the guitarists. I don’t know if they had to do that because of stage size, but it looks kind of funny at times. Luckily there are a few different camera angles, and whoever did the editing did a good job of switching between them all so that viewing does not get monotonous.

The band is basically playing blues inspired rock with some punk moments thrown in. All of the guitar solos seem to be on scale. All of the riffs are pretty predictable, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. This band is giving us some good rock, and they know what they’re doing.

The bass player seems to drive a lot of the songs, and the drummer keeps great time. For a live performance, the drummer is really tight with the rest of the band, and doing a great job at holding his own. I like his hair, too.

As far as recommendations, I really can’t be too sure. There seems to be quite a crowd in the audience of this live performance, but I’ve never even heard of these guys. However, they do a good job at least on this DVD, so if you are already a fan of this band, you should definitely pick this one up.
